CHAPTER 24 [party]

I fidget and pull myself away from him. I tuck my hair behind my ear, "so you want everyone to know" I ask panicked, "well of course don't you" he asks, "Jack, we can't do that" I say, after a moment of silence Jack nods and I can see in his eyes that wasn't the answer he was looking for, "I'm sorry, but if people find out, everything is ruined" I say trying to grab his hand, he is hesitant to my touch and slightly pulls away, "of course" he smiles weakily, "I'll see you later" he says before walking off. I couldn't think of anything to say there and then to make Jack turn around. I knew what I said, he didn't want to hear, but it was the truth. If people knew about us, or whatever we are then everything is going to get complicated. I just stand there watching him walk down the street before I turn my corner and carry on to my house.

I walk in the door with my head slighty down thinking if Jack was okay. I pull out my phone to text him when my mum interrupts me, "hey" she says, "hey, erm I'm going out with some friends tonight with Molly if that's okay" I say to her whilst shoving my phone into my pockets failing to type a message. "Don't be back too late" she says, "you know I wont" I smile a little, "who's going to be there" she asks and I instantly start to panic, "err just me Molly, Jonah and a few other friends" I manage to get out. Yes, my mum knows about Jonah, she caught Molly and I talking about him the other day since he brought up Zach again. "Okay honey, will you be here for dinner" she asks, I look at my phone for the time, it's 4pm and Molly is coming for me at 5:30pm, "no I wont, I'll grab something with Molly before we go" I smile as I make my way to the stairs, "any other boys going" she asks and I freeze, "probably, I don't know who though" I say, she hums, "okay well I'm going to get ready" I smile whilst running up the stairs.

I walk into my room and close the door behind me. I jump onto my bed and pull out my phone to see if Jack had messaged at all since he normally says something to try and tease me when he leaves. Nothing. My mood drops a little and decide to text him myself to see if we were fine.

Me: hey, we good? xx

Within a few seconds he messages me back,

Jack: of course baby girl, see you later <3

I smile down at my phone realising everything is okay and I was obviously over reacting. I text Jonah to ask when hes picking me up,

Me: what time you getting here grandpa? x

Jonah: I'm not a grandpa

Jonah: and I was suppose to get Molly first but she said she was at yours so 5:30?

I get confused at the text and begin to type telling Jonah she isn't here when there is a loud knock at the door followed by it being busted open with a shout, "HELLO FAMILY" I hear Molly scream, I laugh to myself ad text him back.

Me: sure, see you then

I roll my eyes as I stand up from my bed to go downstairs to get Molly before she raids out cupboards for food.

I walk downstairs to see Molly in my kitchen, eating of course. I laugh as I sit on the stool next to her. "You told Jonah you were at mine before you even came here?" I ask her, she smiles, "well of course, you're family, you can't exactly tell me to piss off" she says as my mum walks in, "language Molly, glad to see you've invted yourself around again" my mum laughs as she pulls the packet of biscuits out of Mollys hands and places them back in the cupboard, "of course" Molly smiles, we all laugh together. When it gets to 5 me and Molly head back upstairs after a long chat with my mum. Molly was already ready, I just needed to change my clothes. I put on some plain denim high waisted jeans and tuck in my white nike tshirt. "I wont need a jacket will I" I ask, "nah well be inside, plus you have Jack to cuddle up to" she says, a little too loud, I shush her and she covers her mouth knowing she was being loud. I slip on my plain white nike air forces and grab my phone and keys. "I'm not getting drunk tonight, at all" I say as I wait beside Molly on my bed for Jonah to text. Molly was wearing plain black jeans and a slightly cropped karki shirt, along with her all so famous nose ring in place.

"Not dressing up for Zach" I annoy her, "nope" she says popping the p at the end, "come on, you have to stop teasing him" I say, "you're doing the same" she says, "can't you see that Jack really wants to have something real with you" she whispers, before I could answer my phone beeps. I look down at it to see Jonah had texted that he was outside. As we leave I forget about what I would've have said to that, I forget she even said it to begin with. I shout "love you" to my mum before I close my door.

We get in the car and Jonah starts driving. I sit in the front and Jonah has an evil smirk on his face that Molly questions when she was told to sit in the back, "Why do I have to sit in the back" she says, "just gotta turn this corner" Jonah says, I knew exactly where he was going when he went the opposite way from my house to Bricks. He's picking up Zach and Molly might not have even realised yet. "I swear Bricks house was the other way" she finally says after five minutes, me and Jonah look at each ther and laugh. "Yeah, we have to pick someone up" Jonah syas inbetween laughs, "I hate you both" Molly says slouching back in her seat and me and Jonah laugh even more.

As we pull up outside Zach house, he walks out wearing black jeans and a bright yellow hoodie with his checkered vans. He smiles when he sees Molly in the back. He jumps in "hello trouble" he says, "nope, we are not picking anyone else up, you don't need to get that close" Molly says putting her hand on the middle seat just as Zach was about to sit there, me and Jonah laugh a little as they start to argue. "Why is it so hard for you to just be near me" Zach says, "because you are an idiot and I don't do well with idiots" Molly says, "oh I'm an idiot" Zach says, "yes" Molly states, "we'll see what happens when you drink tonight" Zach says, "oh fuck you Zach you ain't getting anything tonight" Molly says rolling her eyes, "you can't resist me even if you tried" Zach says, "why are you so damn cocky all the time" molly says annoyed, "why are you so stubborn" Zach says, "oh I'm stubborn are you for real" Molly argues, "woah what got you so mad" Zach laughs, "I was tricked into getting in a car with you" Molly says, "well I'm so sorry trouble but I'm sure you'd rather be with me than others" Zach says, "no, just you" Molly says. Me and Jonah laugh even more to ourselves as they argue about the dumbest things on the way to Bricks. At least the drive was only 10 minutes, I don't think they could've handled more without killing each other. Or maybe doing something else? I don't even know but from what Molly has told me but they've been having 'hate sex' as she has explained it.

We all get out the car and walk up the path, me and Jonah in between Molly and Zach who have now finally shut up. I see Jack smiling waiting at the bottom of Bricks drive, "waiting for me Avery" I ask as we approach him, "no, I was waiting for Jonah and Zach actually" Jack winks walking off with the boys leaving Molly and I behind. I roll my eyes as I turn to Molly, "I hate Zach Herron" she says, "no you don't" I say as we start to walk, "I do, he's so annoying, he's cocky and defensive as well as completely self-centered which doesn't help because he's hot and he fucking knows it" she rolls her eyes, "so you think he's hot" I raise an eyebrow, "I might hate him, but anyone in their right mind would be able to see that he's hot" she says in defense, "okay okay" I brush it off as we walk in. "Hey guys" Brick greets us as he hands us both a beer. Molly and I take it with smiles, "I hope I'm getting more than just one of these tonight" Molly says, "of course, more in the kitchen, help yourself when you want one" Brick smiles, "I like you Brick Sanders" Molly taps his chest as she walks into the house, quickly being pulled into the lounge by Christina.

I look at Brick who's smiling, "and who are you here with" he almost smirks, I look over to Jack who is talking with Jonah, "Jack actually" I say, "ah, you're the famous Grace he's been talking about" he says, "he talks about me?" I ask, "yeah, all the time, I can say you've exceeded my expectations" he winks as he leaves to join everyone else in the lounge. I look uo to see Jack walking towards me, "so what did Brick say" he asks, "have you told him about me" I ask, "what?" he asks a bit confused, "he says you talk about me all the time" I say looking at him, he moves his gaze over to the lounge and laughs a little, "that's just Brick, he exaggerates everything, come on lets join everyone else princess" Jack smiles as he puts his arm around me. I smile a little as we walk into the lounge. Everyone is here that I thought would be, plus 2 other guys. So, we couldn't really class this as a party because theres only 12 people here.

I have no idea how this is going to turn out. I might not even get drunk.
