I blamed myself. For a long time I blamed myself.

And Bill knew I did.

"R-r-rich you can't b-blame yourself. I-it's not y-your fault t-there's a p-psycho on the l-l-loose."

"I know Bill. Thanks." But I was obviously lying I heard her voice in my head all the time.

In the morning

'You should write a book called To Kill a Betty'

At night

'Richie I like movies a lot. I always wanted to go to one with you. To bad you got scared and couldn't do IT.

And always when I used the bathroom

'Richie please come down here. I miss you. Come float with me.'

I thought I was crazy but, I ignored it successfully. Until I saw her.

I was the first one to the Barrens that morning. I never was but for some reason that day I was.

I felt like I had to like I was meant to.

And there she was. Standing in the river bank. She was in tattered clothing and blood was dripping from her torso.

"Richie?"

"Betty? How are you here?" I was paralyzed but I still couldn't help but notice her striking beauty.

"I-i don't know. Take me home Rich."

I didn't know why but I began to cry. I didn't even know her that well but she consumed my every thought.

"I-I-I can't Betty. I just can't." Tears poured from my eyes and I couldn't stop them.

She began to walk toward me. And fright flooded my whole body.

My face went completely numb with cold.

"Richie please!"

"I can't Betty! I'm so sorry!"

"Then I'll have to take you home with me."

"Betty....." I walked backwards toward the water.

She ran towards me just as Bill emerged from the woods. Betty disappeared.

He found we soaking wet crying and screaming in the water.

"S-s-shit! W-w-what happened to y-you?"

"I saw an animal and it tried to attack me." I said simply brushing is off. I could tell he didn't believe me. I was still sniffling.

"O-ok. A-a-are y-you ok?"

"Yea. Let's just forget this happened."

"O-ok."

I miss her. I never even met her. Or talked to her. Not really. But I miss her.
