Yes, it’s indeed hell inside.
Bleachers were packed of people that you could hardly see the cemented sits they’re on, wave of people covered the wide basketball slash volleyball court inside and the gym’s air conditioning units seem to condition air like you were in Sahara Dessert, well, I’ve never been there actually, it’s just a figurative speech...
We could barely find our way to some vacant sits at the highest bleacher, which is on the left wing. From our spot, though there seem to be more or less a thousand people around, we can still see what’s happening down there. And Woops!
Those sitting at the fronts rows, right in front the stage, who were wearing the weirdest clothes of all, “Togas. Are those some kind of graduation clothes?”
“Yes they are. The more complex the design is, the higher the degree they’ve attained.” Remei replied and out of the corner of my eye, I saw walking right in the centre aisle, the one wearing the most fabulous, elegant, detailed, delicate and magnificent of all togas around.
The crowd hushed as he passed by, an indeed head turner, eye-catching, and someone who is dignified enough to earn this total silence in the gym, “One of the Heads of Elemental Studies, Dr. Sigmoir Brustle.”
So he was one of the head of E-studies, the one who’s wearing this long and obviously bigger and heavier toga for his size and this really abstract hat of him; and the one who glitters all shades of blue as the light strikes him, seems like I’m staring at the water itself.
He sat in the middle of all those wearing multicoloured togas, “I’ve heard from the rumours, he’s part pure elemental and part human born elemental.” Remei continued.
I thought for a sec, no for a minute, “What’s unique about it? I mean, we’re all part something in here.”
“He’s different.”
“How? In what ways?”
“We’re pure human born elementals.”
“Isn’t that means half elementals and half not?”
“No!” Remei gasped, “We are elementals, human born.”
“I still don’t get it.”
“Oh Remei, good luck on Elly. He’s a bit slow.” Nicolei whispered a side comment to Remei.
“Omit the ‘a bit’.” Remei teasingly smiled, “Look, we are elementals and human at the same time.”
“That’s it! We’re part something and part another thing.”
“No. Let me finish first, okay?” She glared at me, “We are elemental and human at the same time. We are not part something, we are two beings united in one blood.”
Very confusing... Seriously??? Is it me who’s not getting what Remei’s saying or it is her who didn’t understand what I’m trying to say??? Hmmm.
Tick... Tick... Tick... “Okay...” my mind is bleeding here, just to feel ease, “I get it now. So what’s different on him?”
“I say, we look more human than him.” Remei smiled as if testing how fast my brain really is.
I glanced at the man covered in this stream-like toga, “You mean, he’s got some features that are not humanly?”
“Yeah.”
“What?”
“Who knows? He never answered it, as what I’ve said, these were only rumours. He never denied it nor accepted it.”
