Chapter 22 Teaser

"Are you sure that this is what's best for her? Do you really think I'm fit to take on the role as her guardian?"

Tugging her crossed arms closer to the bottom of her chest, the curvaceous ravenette stared down at her superior. Doubt lacing her every word as she bit her lip in anxiousness.

'I'm still so youthful and young...I'm not sure that I will be able to take care of a troubled child such as her.'

"Nonesense, you will do fine. I have faith in all my staff members, and I chose you for that very reason. This may seem like a stretch, but she seems to be in the need of support... With your eccentric personality, I'm sure you'll be able to get to her one way or another."

Nezu calmly reasoned with Midnight as he sat upon his green sofa, a brown mug placed between his two paws as he sipped the hot liquid within it's walls.

A tranquil vibe overtaking his area as he purposely put aside the female's worries momentarily. Leaving said woman to only sigh at his lack of reaction, which did not by any means go unnoticed by the man.

But he chose to ignore it once more.

After all, if he made a big deal about it, it would only manage to scare the pro hero away. Completely ruining his chance to test out a long hypothesized theory he had dug in the back of his head for many years now.

He had to get this right.

"Initially, I'll be frank when I say that you weren't my first choice in choosing a mentor," Nezu stated as he began to bring the cup to his lips, the sweet aroma enticing the man to smile.

However his words seemed to have the opposite affect on his intended target, as she only seemed to grow more glum. Shoulders slightly slumped as her blue orbs seemed distant. Out of disappointment or discomfort, that was left unclear.

"With Aizawa being my first, I had thought about possibly entrusting (y/n) into his hands....however, as it further dwelled in my head I found that it wouldn't be fair for me to do such a thing. With his injuries and teaching, I doubt he will be too happy about the new duties... But you..."

Perking her head at the sudden pause, the woman couldn't help herself from speaking out. She just wanted a straight answer.

"I, what? What is it that made you think I can accomplish such a task?"

"Well. Very simply. You possess more empathy. I have known you for many years now, Nemuri. You have a way of making those that are around you feel more open to things, or to 'explore their dirty desires' as you would say. You accepted my offer once for a job that required you to teach the next generation of heroes, you are driven but you just don't see it yet. That is why, I ultimately chose you as her mentor."

Sparing him a glance, Midnight crossed her legs as her head dug itself against the seat cushions. She felt...conflicted

On one side, she was doubtful. An X rated hero, taking on the task to guide a morally lost girl was unheard of. It was almost comical even, taking into consideration the amount of controversy surrounding her already. Not to mention, lots of pressure on her patience and mental health.

But on the other hand, the task of trying something new made her excited. The type of feeling that felt almost orgasmic, putting her on edge and surging through her body like a long awaited climax.

It would truly be a unique experience, given the fact that she had never given much thought to having children of her own one day. She had always remained career driven, staying single and never on the look out for a potential partner.

So what if she accepted?

Agreeing to be someone's mentor was almost like taking on the role to be a dependable parental figure of sorts. To form an intimate relation with said person, an guide them to be a good role model.

Sure, it could be considered similar to the position she currently occupied, a teacher...but it was still far from being the same thing.

Not only that, the girl was a villain.

She may have shown signs of maybe being the latter , but she had still committed many inexcusable crimes.

Murder being one of them.

Could someone that skilled at being evil, change to become one of the top three?

Would she be able to trust her, and put her faith into someone that could turn on her?

She didn't know.

And that was the problem.

"Before I give an answer, may I speak with her? (Y/n) I mean."

Raising both of his eyelids in interest, the rat-dog of a man hid a hopeful smile behind his cup.

"Oh? Are you considering my offer?"

Placing both hands on her lap, she stared straight into the eyes of the highly amused man. Resolve unwavering as she spoke with the upmost respect and dignity.

"I'll admit, she peeked my interest the moment she responded to your hypothetical. She's got guts, that's for sure. However, anyone could come up with an answer such as hers in an instance. That being said, I want to test her tolerance. To see if she truly is the bad little girl she portrays herself as, or if she truly has a heart guarded behind this dominant facade she established. Only then, will I be able to answer your proposal."

It was in moments like these, where Midnight would show her maturity as not only a hero, but as a woman.

She may not always portray herself in that manner, but under all the euphomisims and innuendos she spits out on a daily baisis, she truly is someone to look up to.

"I'll allow that. But what will you do if you find that she truly lacks what you are looking for?"

At the question, the ravenette got on her two feet and did a power stance. A smirk gracing her features as her face seemed to darken.

"Well I'll punish her of course. The submission of my prey has always been a major turn on for me, it will make things fun...for me."

Sweat dropping at her answer, nezu simply chuckled at her sheer bluntness.

"Alright then, do as you see fit. Come join me for more tea after you finish speaking with her."

"Got it, I'll be back then."

----

"Y/n, may I have a word with you?"

Knocking on her hospital room's, wooden door, she awaited for the sound of shuffling foot steps on the other side.

Once it came, she quickly stepped aside as she was greeted with the stoic face of the weak (h/c)-ette. Her tired eyes landing on the woman's face as she mouthed a quiet "okay."

Leaving the door ajar, (y/n) proceeded to pace back towards her bed with great difficulty . The medication for the pain, seemingly starting to wear off.

Feeling pity, the pro hero shut the door behind her and proceeded to assist the struggling girl back to her cushions. Which was received with no protests but did elicit a confused gaze from the injured female.

Once she had settled back onto her resting position, Midnight seated herself next to her bedside. A small frown tugging down her perky lips as she stared at her potential student.

Feeling the odd sensation of being watched, (y/n) turned towards the strange woman. Meeting her warm, blue eyes head on as she scrunched her brows in growing suspicion.

"Is there something wrong?"

"No, nothing is wrong. But I came here to possibly get some answers. Tell me, (y/n), what led you towards the wrong path?"
