Saving Andy

Andy's POV

I opened my eyes to see a hospital room ceiling staring back at me. How did I get here? I look to my left to see Sam asleep on the chair next to me. The pain from yesterday, something must have happened to me to make him bring me back here.

"Sam?"

He opened his eyes to look at me.

"Andy. How are you feeling?"

"I feel fine, why am I here? What happened?"

"What happened was that you didn't tell me the truth. You had a very high fever last night and I brought you here. The doctor told me that your wound got infected and now they're filling you up with antibiotics to see how your body will react to them. Andy how could you not tell me that you were in pain? What if it had been worse?"

"I didn't think it would be important."

"You didn't think it would be important?! I could have lost you! Again!"

He paused for a minute, taking a deep breath.

"You can't keep it all in when your in hurt Andy. Please just promise me this won't happen again."

"Okay I promise."

"Good. Now what do you want to eat? I'm gonna head to the station to let everyone know your okay, do you want some food?"

"Considering I haven't eaten since last night, food would be heavenly."

He chuckles.

"Okay I'll pick up something on my way back. There are three cops on this floor to make sure no one tries to come in here. Stay alive okay?"

"Okay."

After he leaves, I can't help but worry about the fact that someone out there is trying to kill me. To top that off no one knows who it is!

Sam comes back an hour later with food. We talk and eat and he cleans up after we're done. I start to feel sick.

"Sam, I don't feel so good."

It's starting to become hard to breath.

"Andy, what's wrong?"

He runs outside and calls for a doctor then rushes back to my bedside.

"Sam if anything happens, just know that I love you. I love you so much."

"Andy don't do this. We're not saying goodbye. Not now, not ever. I love you too. Just stay strong okay? Just keep fighting."

As I start to lose consciousness, I can hear Sam scream for me to open my eyes. I can feel him starting to panic, yelling for a doctor to come to the room. Darkness consumes me as soon as the doctor walks through my door.
