"Please say something." I stared at my deadly silent friend. I couldn't place any sight of any emotion in her face. Empty. I have literally never seen her this quiet for this long before. I was starting to get worried.
I sighed as I stood up, walking towards the kitchen to grab a glass of water before I made my way back to the living room, sitting down next to her as I tried to make eye contact. Her stare was lost, as if her brain was trying to decipher something. Then, the corner of her mouth lowered as her lips finally parted to speak.
"What the fuck!" She snapped out of her trance as her eyes shot up in... excitement? Surprise? "You and Vennberg?" I had been thinking during all the way back from Germany to Seattle about how to tell her. I knew she had to know, she deserved it. And it had taken me a whole half an hour to grow the guts to speak up. "How? For how long has this been happening? Jacob knew? Why didn't you tell me this before?" She looked hurt, I knew she would feel this way.
"I honestly don't know how it started." It was the lamest excuse ever, but it was also the truth. I still couldn't place how I went from hating his guts to, well, this. It was all him and his charming ass' fault.
"Well, you better start from the beginning, young lady." I nodded, thankful she was willing to hear me out instead of sending me straight to hell.
"He offered me to go with him every single Friday to the hospital and watch some surgeries, or even assist sometimes. I never told you because you already hated yourself for not getting into the program, I didn't want you to feel worse. Everything was pretty formal and harmless at the time." She listened to me carefully, trying not to interrupt me. "But then, I drunk called him at Chris's party and he got really angry." Kate gasped, covering her mouth with her hand, trying not to laugh.
