My excitement for the party had lessened after my interaction with Michael. I really wanted to stay for the apple bobbing, but I will stay true to my word. I promised I would meet him and I will follow through with that.

Everyone looks stunning in their elegant masks, gowns, and suits. Coco and Emily look gorgeous. All of them do. The laughter filled the room and I got this feeling that was... odd. I look to Ms. Venable, and I could hear her speak, but her mouth remained still. The words from her were awful to say the least. She was waiting for the apple bobbing for something to happen. Something is wrong with the fruit.

When it was announced, I ran to Michael's suite. He had to stop whatever she's doing. I knocked on the door hurriedly. The blonde opened it with a smile.

"Hello, Angel. What has you in a rush?" He asks, stepping out of the way to let me inside.

"This is going to sound crazy," I huff, "But I think Venable did something to the apples." His expression changed to one of confusion.

"What makes you think that?" he, for some reason, smirks. It makes me slightly uneasy the way hes acting. He invites me into the room and I take a seat. I was a lost little lamb entering a lions den, and I knew it.

"I... I heard her say it."

"She told you?"

"Well, no sir, the thing is she wasn't speaking. It was like... like I tapped into her thoughts. She has bad intentions." His smile grew and he took a seat next to me on the bed. He pushed a fallen lock of my hair away from my eye.

"My, my, (Y/N). I knew you were special. You possessed these powers all along, you know, but some sort of spell was placed upon you. That will be taken care of soon enough. Maybe then you'll figure out how you know me. I know you've been dying to know," he says smugly.

"So I'm not going crazy? We need to help them! They'r-"

"No, my love," he cuts me off, "They're already gone. And you are rediscovering your powers." My eyes open wide. In too much shock to mourn at the moment.

"What other powers do I have?"

"So, so many, my dear. Ill show you. Just you wait."

He looks like he's beginning to lean in. Do I kiss him? Do I want to? I think I do.

Before our lips touch, there is a knock at the door. It opens to show Ms. Mead and Ms. Venable waiting there, looking hostile. They looked shocked that I was in with him, leaning in for a kiss, though they didn't seem too concerned.

"Ladies, I'm a little busy right now formulating my selections."

"This wont take long," Venable says menacingly. I see a gun and jump up in fear. Langdon stands slowly.

"Whats this?" he asks the two women. I step behind him.

"We're making the selections now, Mr. Langdon, and I'm afraid you didn't make the cut." I clutch the back of his jacket, possessed by fear. As my heartbeat increases, I notice the flames on the wicks of the candles grow larger. It dies down when Michael laughs.

"I'm sorry. I wanted to let you have your moment, but I just couldn't hold it in." Although I can't see his face, I can hear the smile plastered across his face. I attempt to read his thoughts like I did to Venable, but he lets out another chuckle, then looks to me and shakes his head.

'Nice try, Angel' I hear him say in my mind. Ms. Venable looks angry.

"You think this is funny?" she scoffs. Clearly she had expected fear from him.

"I think I'm impressed, Ms. Venable. I wasn't sure you had it in you. You've passed the test. You're perfect for The Sanctuary," Michael states. Somehow he still unphased by the gun pointed, ready to kill.

"Ms. Mead," she commands.

Michael warns, "I wouldn't do that."

But after the second time she commanded it, a gunshot was fired. I let out a small gasp, tears running down my face. But Michael never dropped. Instead, Ms. Venable was on the floor, gasping her last breaths. Ms. Mead looked shocked.

"I... I don't know why I did that. I was always loyal to her," she says, a tear or two escaping her eyes.

"Its alright. You were obeying commands, like you're programmed to do. My commands," he smirks. "Did you enjoy executing the poison apples plan as much as I enjoyed coming up with it?" He... He killed them.

"You... you wanted everyone dead? You killed them!?" I gasp, tears falling again. I begin to sob over my lost friends. Michael leads me over to sit down.

"I've never been a fan of getting my hands dirty, Angel. Learned that from my Father. Always more fun to entice men and women to do dirty deeds. Confirms what I've always believed," Michael sighs, wrapping his arms around me. I wanted to push him away from me, but I needed comforting. He knew it too.

"Wh-What do you believe?" Mead asks him.

He states simply, "That all people, if given the right pressures or stimulus, are evil motherfuckers."

With that, Michael's head shot towards the door. A look appeared in his eyes. Anger.
