"Once someone looses somethin' and gives up looking for it, it ends up here. Jareth can't be bothered to send Goblins to try to clean it up, so he just leaves it to keep getting bigger. It tends to slow down the people runnin' the maze."

"I can see why..." I say giving it a disgusted look.

"Trash bad..." Ludo says.

I nod my head and pull him along behind me. When we get to the bottom of the hill I can see the mountains of trash leering over us. With all of the holes popping up out of nowhere, it is a surprise that there is still so much trash all over the place.

But I guess people are always losing things, so even as things disappear, more things reappear. Hopefully the King can figure out a way to clean it up before things get too out of hand. Eventually the trash will spill into the city if he doesn't deal with it...

Then again, I never liked to clean my room either...

As we reach the bottom of the pile I can see some old broken toys come tumbling down the hill and land at our feet. If we try to climb it there is a good chance there will be a cave in over us. Our best bet would be to try to avoid the piles all together by climbing around them.

Ludo boosts me and Hoggle onto the pile and then lifts himself up behind us. I have to step over broken glass and other materials as we slide ourselves along the base of one of the larger piles of trash.

Suddenly, under our feet, the pile begins to tremble, and the peak of the mountain begins to sink into the ground.

"What's going on!" I cry as the trembling throws me to my feet.

"It's one of those damn hole!" Hoggle cries, "Hurry, get away from the pile or it will pull you down with it!"

We all scramble across the rubble, my hands scraping against all of the broken materials. Ludo thunders by us, not caring what he steps on. Hoggle is quick to jump around the toys, but my feet only work so fast, and soon I feel the ground giving out below me.

"No!" I scream grabbing onto anything that I can pull myself up on.

But everything is falling on its own, and nothing is sturdy enough to grab. As my hands meet thin air, I scream as my body is flung back into the open.

"Sarah!" Hoggle cries, and Ludo leaps forward to grab my hand.

Without thinking, Ludo pulls me back towards him, and my hand slips from his sending me flying back into the pile. When I lift my head, Hoggle and Ludo are staring over me.

"Are you okay, Sarah?" Hoggle asks.

"Uh, I think so." I say letting them help me out of the piles. "That sure was a close one. We should get moving before any more of the holes pop up again."

As we continue picking our way through the pile, I notice that my hands are bleeding. I must have cut them on something when I was grabbing the toys. Hopefully none of it had any diseases or that on it. I can't afford to get sick before I get Toby back home.

For another hour we just continue walking towards the ever looming wall to the Goblin City. A few times we have to stop and rest, and I find that as time goes on my feet are starting to hurt more and more. It was pretty late when I left for the Labyrinth, and I am certainly feeling the need for sleep.

But not until I get to Toby. I have to stay awake until then or who knows what will happen in the time after I close my eyes. After all, we are almost there as it is. It shouldn't be too much longer of walking, then I will be in the clear.

After another hour of walking, we are finally stumbling out of the pile and through the doors into the gate. I trip on the solid surface and fall to the ground at Ludo's feet.
