Hopefully, they'll leave. Can't a boy just play some ball?

After a little while, Ness checked the field behind the tree. He wasn't scared of them, he just couldn't stand their presence. He sighed in relief when the coast was clear. He grabbed his bat from the wet ground and walked into the rain.

Just as he approached the field, he heard a faint voice. The tone of the voice sounded like a mother calling her child. He gripped his bat and turned around

"Hey there, Ness~" cooed a voice. "You're quite a hero, I heard."

The group emerged from behind a tree walking slowly like slithering snakes. Like last time, they circled him like a snake coiling around its prey. Ness watched them intently as he gripped his bat tightly in a frustrated way.

"Looks like Ness here isn't a little boy anymore." said boy holding a hand above Ness's head.

"Grown a lot over the past months. Been drinking that milk for growing big boys, huh?" sneered a girl.

"Probably still a momma's boy. He's still wearing the same clothes."

Ness rolled his eyes. These kids are annoying and are getting on his nerves.

"Leave me alone. I know how to properly swing this bat." blurted out Ness.

"Stirring up some trouble, eh?" said a tall boy Ness assumed was the leader. He stepped into the circle and leaned into the circle, whispering "Not a good thing to add to a hero's reputation."

"Gee, your breath smells." said Ness. "Well, nice reunion, not. But I got some practice to do."

Ness began to leave when felt a tug on his shirt collar. He was harshly turned around and was now grabbed by his front collar. The leader and Ness were face to face. Noses almost touching.

"Not so fast, you got away easily the last time. We're not satisfied." growled the leader. "It's been awhile since our last blood bath."

The group began to snicker in the background. He let go of his collar.

Weirdos...don't they have something better to do?

Ness turned his head and saw a gap to escape. He quickly booked it before they noticed. He ran quite a distance so he looked back to check on where they all were. Almost right behind them was an angry mob running at him.

Ness kicked over a trashcan, spilling the contents. It slowed them down as they gagged and cursed trying to get through the smelly mess. He used his PSI to move a giant branch in the way. Some tripped and some managed to jump at the last second. The group became smaller.

Ness ran toward the playground, of course, no one was there. The rain was now pouring harder, soaking his hair flat and sticking his clothes to his body. He ran up the mini stairs, and was climbing the castle tower. He squinted eyes to look where they were now. Then he lookes down to see they were all already on the playground surrounding him. He panicked at the sight that he almost slipped. One tried to grab his leg, but Ness successfully climbed into the top of the tower.

While he was out of arms reach, he was stranded.

"No running away now." said the leader.

Ness smirked and jumped off the tower to the ground. He miscalculated his landing, and landed feet first. His ankles stung in pain and he slumped to his ground. He tried to get up but his feet gave a wobble and failed.

So, they finally caught him. Ness laid on the ground on his side as they approached him. The whoke group was there.

"Pathetic," spat the leader. He kicked Ness in the ribs. "But at least you tried. Hold him up."
