Two boys harshly grabbed him and held him by the arms as his legs were dragged onto the ground.

"Wait..." croaked Ness weakly. "Let's make a deal."

Ness looked at the leader, trying hard not to show any discomfort. The leader came foward and grabbed him by the chin forcing Ness to look up at him.

"What kind of deal?" he asked. "Put him down morons. Let's see what he has to say."

The boys harshly dropped him onto the ground and scoffed off. Ness slowly sat upright.

"A deal about the field." he replied. "Keep away from the park, field, and anyone who's there."

"What kind of deal is that?" said the leader. "This only benefits you."

"Yea, what's in it for us." chimed in a girl.

"You didn't let me finish." said Ness inpatiently. "You can do whatever you want, and I won't tell a single person. I'm the 'hero'. They'll believe me."

"No."

"...."

"How about we do whatever we want, like you said. BUT, it's your safety over everyone elses. Also you have to do what we say." said the leader. "Take it or leave it."

Ness was in disbelief. They seem to have caught him off guard and lead him in their trap. They widely grinned at each other. Ness sighed.

This is stupid... How will I explain the injuries. Wait, am I giving in!? I'm not afraid of these idiots but...Ugh! Fine. Fine. Fine! As long as they don't bother anyone.

"Fine, but don't go overboard. Otherwise people with get suspicious." said Ness. "And I also can leave after half an hour."

"Seems fair. Well Ness, you got yourself a deal." said the leader. "Let's go to the alleyway. I need a smoke break."

He motioned his hand to indicate their dismissal. They left into the darkness of the night. Ness slowly got back up, the pain lessened, but he slightly limped.

What did I get myself into?

He grumpily grabbed his things and took off. The rain was weaker and it was slightly chilly.

"Great, I can't practice with these stupid legs." muttered Ness to himself.

He limped back to his neighborhood. During his trip, he noticed Lucas was outside, taking out his dog to do its business.

I should bring King someday, maybe they'll be friends.

He reached his his house. He entered the empty house and didn't bother with anything because he was still annoyed.

He stumbled into his room, and hugged the comfort of his bed.

"I guess I better do my math homework to get it out of the way."

It didn't take long for him to finish. It was fairly simple unlike other times. Sometimes it would take him until midnight to complete it.

Right now, he was scrolling through his phone, bored out of his mind. It was already late nighr, but he still had a lot of energy to spare.

Upon his scrolling, he saw a post from Lucas with a picture of his dog. His posts consisted of dog, none of him. He was camera shy.
Then Ness had an idea on what to do.

Ness dialed Lucas's number and patiently waited.

"Y-yes?" said a quiet voice.

"Lucas, buddy! How are you?" said Ness jumping to his knees on his bed. "Did I wake you up? Sorry. I'll leave you alone."
