"What is this about?" Robert asked, picking up my phone.
"It's a long story," I said softly. Robert set my phone down between us.
"I've got all day. I will wait years here to get the story out of you," he said, crossing his arms.
"Fine. So, a while ago at the party, I got paired with him. To kiss and get to know with the questions and stuff," I started. I took a deep breath. "And we avoided each other for a while until yesterday. Then, he confronted me about it. He liked it and asked me out. I said yes."
"You're too trusting sometimes," Robert said. I looked at him as he took my hand. "I don't want to let you go. It seems like just the other day that I met you for the first time at home when my aunt and uncle brought you home. I immediately became protective and, I mean, look at us now. Two adults with steady jobs and families."
I smiled and squeezed his hand. "I'll always be here for you. I promise," I said to him, standing up.
"Well, do you want to go check on everyone?" He asked me. I nodded and took his hand again. The one comfort in this crazy, ever-changing world.
We came into the living room, where Meredith was cringing in her sleep. Brian seemed really worried about her. "Please, be okay," Brian whispered. I gently took his shoulder and he turned to face me.
"Let me," I said gently. He took a few steps and gestured for me to do my thing. Light as a feather, I took her pulse. It was racing against my fingers. I gently took her hand and gave it a soft squeeze. "It's okay. Wake up." She kept stirring and didn't stop. I rubbed her hand and hardened my voice. "Wake up. Please."
She seemed to have listened and opened her eyes slowly. Brian rushed to her side. "Bri," Meredith whispered with a smile.
"Mere, you were out for a solid five hours," Brian said, lightly kissing her forehead.
"Yeah. I've been tired. What should I make for dinner?" She asked.
"I got it, guys," I volunteered. Everyone looked at me before Meredith sank back with exhaustion.
"Thanks," she said. I smiled and cooked dinner. Tomorrow would be a good day.
The next day, Meredith appeared to be better. We all went to rehearsal and it was a music/song day. I met AJ Holmes, which was incredible. I was excited about today because it meant that I could let the soundtrack wash over me while I wrote and talked to my family. Joey was, luckily, here so I could talk to him and not just my brothers.
"How are you doing, Luna?" Joey asked me.
"Good. I'm typing quicker now and have a release date for a year in the future," I said happily, "How are you doing?"
"Good. I'm just excited for the off weekend. Lo and I are going on a date weekend? Is that right? Well, we're going to Ann Arbor," he said cheerfully. I smiled.
"How long have you two been dating?" I asked.
"Officially, since January. Unofficially, we had gone on coffee dates and kissed for about two months before that," Joey said, smiling at the memories.
"That's pretty cool," I commented.
"So, I never asked, how was LA?" Joey asked.
"Well, I went on set with Darren a few days, was social and yeah. It was incredible overall," I summed up.
"No. Way." Joey said. I could see his inner fanboy ready to burst. Yeah, he was one of the Starkid Glee super-fans.
"You can ask questions, you know," I said.
"Okay, okay, okay, okay. AHH! Well, who did you meet?" Joey asked, literally leaning on the end of his seat.
"Wow, okay. So, I met, can I use their first names?" I asked.
"Go for it. If you're on that basis, use it." Joey fidgeted with his fingers in anticipation.
"Okay, so Matt and Chris, Lea, Becca, Jenna, Chord, Jane, Naya, Blake, and Kevin," I said, going inside my bag and petting my book, remembering the memories. Thanks to Chris, I had gotten an Advance Reader Copy of The Enchantress Returns. I took it everywhere with me for protection. I am a book mama and my youngest child(ren) cannot leave me.
"No way," Joey gasped in awe.
"Yes way," I smiled.
"Were they nice? Did they ask about your wrist? Did they ask about your accent?" Joey interrogated me, nearly bouncing at this point.
"Yes, they were nice. No, they didn't ask about my wrist or accent. How long have you watched Glee?"
"Since Darren was on it. We're besties and I wanted to support him. I didn't think I would love the show so much," Joey smiled. "And now I think about it constantly." I giggled and he leaned close to me. "Even more maybe than Lo," he whispered. I looked at him wide-eyed in disbelief. Obsession before the love of his life.
"Dedication," I noted right as lunchtime came. About half of the soundtrack had been rehearsed twice out of the three times Brian insisted on.
I went to the stage to leave lunch when I got a text from Darren. How's your wrist?
I smiled I can text, see! That's a good sign :)
Why do I have such a sarcastic little sister?
Haha, you know you love me. And how do you know I'm being sarcastic?
I just do.
Love you too, DareBear.
I locked my phone and looked at the feast awaiting me. That is, to say, a gluten-free pizza with salad. Thank you, AJ. I took a slice and some salad (my mother will be proud). I decided to sit next to Robert and Clark. They could make peace between them. "Hey Mini Criss," Clark said as a greeting. I nodded in acknowledgment and listened to their whispered conversation.
"I flipped out," I heard Robert say.
"I'll tell you next time," Clark hissed in response.
"What makes you think they'll be a next time?" Robert asked, his voice hardening. I saw doubt flicker across Clark's face. Robert noticed and softened his tone. "Sorry, I'm just so quick to-"
"No, sorry. I just have an entire future in my mind and I sometimes forget the difference between that and real life," Clark apologized.
"You know, can we just put all of this behind us and start anew?" Robert asked.
"Okay. Hi, I'm Clark. I liked your song for Senior Year," Clark said, sticking out his hand.
"Hi, Clark. I'm Robert. I tend to be very overprotective of my bestie," Robert introduced himself. They each smiled at each other.

I watched the Crimes of Grindelwald and I loved it so much! I cried twice. Well, to all my American readers, have a nice Thanksgiving if I don't see you beforehand. I've said everything I have to say, so have a great time until I see you next!
