Zari Maximoff |1| The third Maximoff

Natasha Pov

"All our work is gone. Ultron cleared out, used the internet as an escape hatch." Banner tells us.

"Ultron." Steve says.

"He's been in everything. Files, surveillance. Probably knows more about us than we know about each other." I tell them.

"He's in your files, he's in the internet. What if he decides to access something a little more exciting?" Rhodey asks.

"Nuclear codes." Maria relies.

"Nuclear codes. Look, we need to make some calls, assuming we still can." Rhodey says.

"Nukes? He said he wanted us dead." I say.

"He didn't say dead. He said extinct." Steve corrected.

"He also said he killed somebody and I don't think he was talking about Zari." Clint says with sadness and anger in his voice. Clint and I started to connect with her and now.. now we don't know if she is hurt, let alone alive.

"But there wasn't anyone else in the building." Maria says.

"Yes there was." Stark says as he bring up the now destroyed 3D image of JARVIS' consciousness.

"This is insane." Banner says looking at Jarvis.

"JARVIS was the first line of defense. He would've shut Ultron down, it makes sense." Steve tells him.

"No, Ultron could've assimilated Jarvis. This isn't strategy, this is...rage" Banner says.

Suddenly, Thor comes in and grabs hold of Stark by his throat and holds him up.

"It's going around." Clint says mad at Tony about Zari.

"Come on. Use your words, buddy." Tony says to Thor.

"I have more than enough words to describe you, Stark." Thor spats.

"Thor! The Legionnaire or Zari." Steve yells and Thor lets go of Stark.

"Trail went cold about a hundred miles out but it's headed north, and it has the scepter. Now we have to retrieve it, again." Thor says then sighs and continues "There is no trace of her, but blood on one of the buildings bellow which Ultron rammed her into." After he said that everyone has sadden looks.

"But why her, why go after Zari?" I ask.

"Because he want me to fight with him along Pietro and Wanda. He thought I was like my siblings and that I wanted revenge. He want to manipulate me just like he is going to do to them. And when I wasn't going to join him he tried to kill me and was going to blame it on you." Someone answers behind us. We all look behind to see Zari leaning on the wall.

"And you got away?" Steve asks.

"We told you she can handle herself." Clint says with a smirk on his face.

"Come here and lets patch you up." I tell her.

"But I'm fine." Zari defends in a monotone voice.

"You can't be fine, you just fought a small army Amy of robots. Now sit." I command her pointing at the table.

She sighs mumbling something and I smile as she comes over and sit down on the table. Clint smirks at the interaction.

"I don't understand. You built this program. Why is it trying to kill us?" Dr. Cho asks as we were tending to Zari's wounds.
Stark starts laughing, Banner subtly shakes his head at him to get him to stop.

"You think this is funny?" Thor spats.

"No. It's probably not, right? Is this very terrible? Is it so...is it so...it is. It's so terrible." Tony says while laughing.

"This could've been avoided if you hadn't played with something you don't understand." Thor says angrily.

"No, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It is funny. It's a hoot that you don't get why we need this." Tony say now getting mad.

"Tony, maybe this might not be the time to..." Banner try's to stop the situation from escalating.

"Really?! That's it? You just roll over, show your belly, every time somebody snarls." Tony yells at Banner.

"Only when I've created a murder bot." He spats.

"We didn't. We weren't even close. Were we close to an interface?" Tony defenses himself.

"Well, you did something right. And ..." Steve starts but Zari cuts him off.

"Enough!" She yells at them and they look at her surprised.

"You guys can yell later, we don't have time for it right now! Ultron has a agenda we need to find out what it is. Like I said earlier he is going right now to recruit Wanda and Pietro to help him in whatever he is doing and they will agree without question." Zari yells at them.

"The kids right, we don't have time for this." Clint says backing up Zari and I nod in agreement.
