Chapter 9

"And when the rescue team finally found us they took Zari to the hospital. She was covered in her own blood. She had lost so much of if that... that they said she would never survive." Pietro says.

"She barely did." I tell him. "Tony Stark murdered our parents and almost killed our little sister." I spat.

"I know what they are." Pietro spat.

"I wondered why only you three survived Strucker's experiments. Now I don't. We will make it right. You and I can hurt them." He says motivating to Pietro. "But you and your sister can tear them apart, from the inside." He finished referring to Wanda, caressing her cheek.

Avengers tower Steve pov

"He's all over the globe. Robotics labs, weapons facilities, jet propulsion labs, reports of a metal man, or men, coming in and emptying the place." Maria tells me as we walk towards the team.

"Fatalities?" I ask.

"Only when engaged. Mostly guys left in a fugue state going on about old memories, worst fears, and something too fast to see." She tells me.

"Maximoffs twins. Zari was right he did recruit them. It makes sense he'd go to them, they have someone in common." I respond.

"Not anymore." Maria hands me a tablet showing a photo of Strucker's dead body with the word PEACE written in blood on the wall next to him.

"That's a negative. I answer to you. Yes, ma'am." Barton says talking into his cell phone.

"Barton, we might have something." I tell him.

"Gotta go." Barton say into the phone and turns his phone off.

"Who was that?" I ask.

"Girlfriend." He responds and we head into the room with the team.

I hand the tablet to Thor

"What's this?" Tony asks as Thor angrily shoves the tablet into his chest.

"A message. Ultron killed Strucker." Steve says angrily.

"And he did a Banksy at the crime scene, just for us." Tony says.

"Strucker dead?" Zari asks.

"This is a smokescreen. Why send a message when you've just given a speech?" Nat asks.

"Strucker knew something that Ultron wanted us to miss." I tell them.

"Yeah, I bet he..." Nat pauses looking at the computer monitor. "Yep. Everything we had on Strucker has been erased." She finishes.

"Not everything." Tony says referring to the paper files.

"Known associates. Well, Strucker had a lot of friends." Steve says.

"Well, these people are all horrible." Banner says.

"You'd be surprised." Zari tells us and some of us give her confused looks but before anyone can question her Tony says something

"Wait. I know that guy." Tony says as Banner passes him the photo he was looking at. "From back in the day. He operates off the African coast, black market arms." He confesses, Zari and I give him an accusing look. "There are conventions, alright? You meet people, I didn't sell him anything." Tony defense and we see a photo of a man named Ulysses Klaue. "He was talking about finding something new, a game changer, it was all very 'Abad" Tony continues.

Thor points to the scar on the back of Klaue's neck and says "This."

"Uh, it's a tattoo. I don't think he had it..." Tony says.

"No, those are tattoos, this is a brand." Thor says.

"Oh, yeah. It's a word in an African dialect meaning thief, in a much less friendly way." Zari tells them popping a piece of candy in my mouth and putting the rapper in my pocket.

We all give her weird looks and I ask "What dialect?"

"Wakanda." She answers.

" If this guy got out of Wakanda with some of their trade goods..." Tony says.

"I thought your father said he got the last of it?" I ask.

"I don't follow. What comes out of Wakanda?" Banner asks.

"The strongest metal on earth." Zari responds.

"How do you know all this?" I ask.

"I got bored I learned language, lots of them and they made me memorize S.H.I.E.L.D.'s old files." Zari tells us and we nod.

"Where is this guy now?" I ask changing the subject.

Just a heads up I probably won't be updating for the rest of the month I have family coming for Christmas and then right after I am leaving for a week to go to Hilton Head Island. I will probably wright when I am in Hilton Head and on the drive which is 11 hours long each way but not while my family is here.
