He howled and tried to claw me off. I brought my staff around and held it across his neck with my arms clenching tight choking him, I swung around off his shoulders still holding onto the staff and heard a crack. He then went limp and fell over me but I teleported next to him before he could land on me.
I smiled in accomplishment and continued fighting.
~~
We fought on the beach for another five hours. The seven warriors including me left without a scratch.
Odin wanted to meet him in the throne room.
The warriors lined up in front of the king.
"The Jotuns are planning to attack soon, and the dark elves are not far behind. I have come up with a plan and you all are going to be a part of it." The king said to us.
We nodded our heads at him.
"In two days we will go to Jotunheim, and we will confront king Laufey. Once we are finished, we will go to Svartalfheim to confront the new king since the previous king was killed in our last battle with the dark elves."
We nodded our heads again and left to go to our chambers.
I looked out of my window from my room towards the city and saw parts of it still smoldering from the fires the Jotuns caused.
I sighed and took a bath.
I crawled into the large hot bath and relaxed, washing my sandy hair and body. The bath smelled like apples and cinnamon. I thought about what the next few weeks or months would be like. We are going to confront the kings of our enemies.
The thought terrified me.
Once I was finished I put my armor back on and braided my hair, I placed my dagger under my pillow and my staff leaned on my night stand. I had to be prepared at all times.
I laid on my bed restless, so many things were on my mind and I couldn't fall asleep.
Finally, after about two hours, I got up and went to the library, my staff and dagger with me.
Loki ~
I couldn't sleep so I went to the library to read.
I took my staff and helmet with me and placed them on the small coffee table by the fireplace and read an astronomy book.
I heard footsteps and turned around to see y/n walk in and towards the history shelves.
She was wearing her armor and had her weapons with her.
She didn't seem to notice me as she picked out three books on the history of Asgard. We are the only two of the group that has read all of the books in the library at least five times or more.
She comes over to the fireplace with the books in her hands.
"Oh hello Loki, I didn't notice you were here."
"Couldn't sleep too?" I asked her as she sat down in the arm chair beside mine.
She nodded her head, "too many things on my mind."
"Me too."
We both read for a while, the only sound coming from the crackling of the wood in the fire.
"Whats going to happen if we lose?" She said suddenly, looking up from her book at me.
"I don't know," I shrugged still looking at my book.
"Honestly, I'm scared to confront the kings," y/n said.
That caught my attention and looked up at her.
The seven of us warriors were trained to never express fear even if we are scared, it's weak and can ruin how you're fighting. But we were sitting in the library, we weren't fighting.
She still had a straight face and didn't show it on the outside when I looked at her.
I stayed quiet for a second before I finally spoke.
"Me too."
It was her turn to looked shocked, I've never expressed my feelings towards her or anyone before.
"I hope we win this." She finally said.
"Yeah, I hope so too."
"I don't want to stop talking, I want to keep my mind off of things. Tell me something funny." I say putting my book down.
She put her book down too. "Hmm... Let's see," she said drumming her fingers on her chin.
"Oh! Do you remember our first day of magic training when we threw the balls of light at each other, or the time when we first got our horses and your horse threw you off into the mud?" She giggled.
I rolled my eyes, "How could I forget that."
"Remember when we pranked mother and father and they made us clean the stables for a week?" I said back smirking.
She laughed, "That was the first and last time we pranked them."
We laughed and talked for another two hours when y/n started to yawn.
"We should head up. You're getting tired." I said getting up and grabbing my things.
She nodded her head and I offered my hand to her.
She took it and we put the books away and headed to our chambers.
As we approached our rooms, she turned to me. "I'm glad we got to finally talk without breaking out into a fight," she said smiling at me and I chuckled.
"Yes, me too. Goodnight y/n."
"Goodnight Loki."
A/n ~
