I wasn't good at making decisions. In fact, I was horrible at making them, and my recent breakup was proof of that. We had finally called it quits and I was ready to move on. Quickly. I was ready for something fun-something to take the edge off of b...
"What day did you say you moved in your new place again?" Iesha, one of my close friends, asked.
"Wednesday. That's when it'll be ready. Why? You sick of me already?" I said glancing up from my screen.
Our other friend Candi snickered. We were all over Iesha's where I had been for the past few days. Being an editor for Paper Magazine had its perks. I could work from home on some days, and I definitely appreciated being able to today. Saving the last few edits I was reading over for the day, I closed my Mac and sat it beside me on the charger.
"You know she is," Candi chimed.
"No, I'm not. I was just asking. I don't mind sliding to my boo's crib for the next few days."
I smirked. "Oh. You trying to get some dick?"
"Duh! Why else would I be asking?" She chuckled and sat beside me. "No, really. I just wanted to know so I can help you move into your new place."
"And to see these movers you mentioned," Iesha added and I shot my eyes in her direction.
Was I being territorial? I couldn't have been. Beyoncé didn't belong to me. "They weren't all that," I said lowly, lying to myself.
"Yes, they were. Beyoncé's is still fine. She has a pretty little girl too," Iesha exclaimed, and my brows dipped lowly.
"Please tell me you didn't stalk this woman's page."
"I sure did. We did," she grinned and slapped hands with Candi.
"Candi, you're in a full-blown relationship," I screeched. We had all been in relationships together at some point over the years. First Iesha ended up single, now me, and I was hoping Candi didn't have any plans. She and her man were going strong.
"I can still look, just not touch," she said shyly.
"Now, you, on the other hand, are single," Iesha said, causing me to my eyes, already knowing where she was going with the conversation. "What! Don't look like that. You are single, and even though it's still early into your breakup with the bum, it doesn't hurt to look."
"Or date," Candi added. "You're used to having someone around, in your presence, warming your bedsheets at night and all that mushy stuff."
"Yeah, but he was cheating, so all of that shit is null and void. Doesn't matter."
"So, I guess you don't want to see this picture of Beyoncé's looking like a fucking BPW."
I cackled. "A what?"
"Right! What the hell is a BPW?" Candi asked.
"A Beautiful Panty Wetter. I made it up the other day," Iesha said with a shrug that had Candi and I losing our shit.
"You are a mess, you know that? Let me see this picture. I'm sure it can't compare to seeing her in person," I said as she handed me her phone.
