Chapter Five

The next day I spend the morning in my bedroom. I'm going through files of each SCP, checking to see how they're doing. I would go out to visit them, but remembering yesterday, I don't want to have a repeat.

I look over each and every one of them, thinking of the memories in my past. As I'm doing this, a knock on my door sounds and it opens before I can say anything. Dr. Andrews is standing there in the doorway. I groan.

"Hello, Dr. What do  you want?" I ask him, annoyed. "Really, Trisha, you don't have to be so rude," he replies. "I was just coming in to let you know that there's testing in an hour. We want you there."

"For which SCP?" I ask. He raises an eyebrow at me. "Does it matter?" he asks. I nod. "Yes it does. I need to know." He looks at me and I give him the returning glance. Finally he sighs. "It's not your boyfriend if that's what your thinking about." My face goes red and I look away.

"He's not my boyfriend," I say. "Whatever," replies Dr. Andrews. Then he leaves the room with the door open. Sighing, I put on my shoes and leave my bedroom, locking it as I leave. I catch up with Dr. Andrews as he turns left down the hallway.

I don't look at him as we walk. I'm annoyed with him, but isn't that a surprise? Not really. Dr. Andrews and I don't get along very well. He thinks that having me around the facility is worse than having all the SCPs. I think he's afraid that I'm going to cause a containment breach.

We continue walking through the facility and finally we stop at a large containment cell. The sign on the wall says SCP-053, Object Class: Euclid. I groan.

"Really?" I say. "Testing for her?" Dr. Andrews smiles. "You've handled tougher SCPs in the past, including that teddy bear. You can handle a little kid," he says, not looking at me. I roll my eyes.

Before we enter, two MTF guards head up to us with a D-Class. The number on his shirt says D-8818. I give a short sigh of relief knowing that I'm a backup plan and not going in directly...unless the personnel can't communicate with the kid.

The door opens and we enter the room. There's a glass window in the room and inside is a three-year-old girl with her back facing us. She's sitting down playing with some toys, blocks from what I can see.

Good, I think. She can keep herself busy. The Class-D is standing off to the side while Dr. Andrews communicates with one of the Facility Guards. He's checking the file and writing something down on a notepad. I stand off to the side just in case he throws me in there.

SCP-053 is one of the harder SCPs I've met in my life. I mean, she and I can get along a little bit, but with her attitude, it can get too much, even for me. No one's supposed to be in there for more than ten minutes. Otherwise, they'll start getting irritated, upset, or scared, causing them to want to hurt 053. I can go more than ten minutes, but I'd rather not. She's an SCP that not even I can handle.

After a few minutes, the two guards push D-8818 into the room. 053 doesn't notice when he walks in and continues playing. The Class-D looks through the window and shrugs.

"What exactly do you want me to do with this child?" he asks. "She's just playing."

"Just do what we tell you to do, and don't make eye contact," Dr. Andrews says through a microphone. Another important thing to say. She doesn't like eye contact.

The personnel doesn't know what to do so he sits across from her, looking at the blocks that she's building. He seems pretty interested. Dr. Andrews jots down some notes while I continue to watch.

He's been in there for about three minutes, seven more before we can end the testing. Nothing seems to be going on other than SCP-053 just sitting there. She's talking to herself, mumbling about something, but we can't pick up on it.

Around five minutes, the personnel starts getting a bit twitchy. He starts pacing around the room, looking a bit worried. He kind of reminds me of 049 when someone with the disease is around. Dr. Andrews takes note of this and an MTF officer stands guard, making sure he doesn't escape.

I'm looking at the D-Class at the moment. I know what's coming. Everyone does this when 053 is around. First the pacing, then the worried looks, and finally...

The Class-D begins crying out. "I can't do this!" he shouts. "She's going to kill me if I don't do something!" The second MTF that's standing next to me joins his comrade.

"You need to stay in there," he says. "You've got about three minutes left." The D-Class shakes his head. "If I stay in here another a minute, she'll kill me. I don't care if she's three. She needs to die!"

Then suddenly, he faces 053. She looks up at him, eyes focused on his. She then screams as the personnel dives towards her, trying to strangle the three-year-old. She's screaming and kicking her feet. Then all of a sudden, the personnel falls down and 053 stops screaming. She's standing over the personnel's body, motionless.

The two MTF officers are aiming their weapons at the girl, as if she's about to attack them. I'm standing up now, focused on the situation. I know that he's dead, but I want to run in and rescue the Class-D from her. Finally, after the ten minutes remain, the officers go in and pull the body out as SCP-053 sits down as if nothing happened and resumes playing.

Sighing, Dr. Andrews stands up and gathers his things. Before he leaves, he faces me. "You know, Trisha," he says. "Every SCP has something that triggers them. The question is, what triggers you?"

I just stare at him as he leaves the room. I follow him out the door and down the hall back to my bedroom. All I can think about is the screams from both the Class-D and 053 echoing in my ears, reminding me of the pain I felt a long time ago.

OMG I finally got this done! It's been a while since I was able to write this chapter. Interesting, huh? I read on the website for the SCP Foundation about SCP-053 and how it's a tough one. No wonder her object class is Euclid.

I've been busy with school and finals week is this week. Been studying for them because the semester ends Friday, January 25th and I'm not ready. I'll do my best to get as many chapters done as needed.

Hope you guys are enjoying the story so far! It's probably one of my most viewed stories. If you'd like to read more of my stories, follow me. One book I've published is a Miraculous Ladybug fanfiction that I'm trying to get a lot of people to read, but they haven't read it yet and I'm kind of sad. I worked hard on it.

Anyways, love you guys and I'll upload Chapter 6 as soon as I can.
