-One year timeskip-

Y/N POV.

I stood looking up at the beautiful sky. It was truly mesmerising. I never imagined it to be... so blue.

I had decided to join the survey corps... why you may ask? Not only did my workplace burn down due to some little brats... darn kids, but all my money with it! I was broke but luckily I was able to get all the patients out safely and salvage the letter i was given.
Devastated I had only one choice... Join the survey corps and help people above land, or rot ... alongside others underground. I had also not heard from my little 'friends'. What was there to loose!

I promised myself I would return though and help those in need.

So here i am Y/N L/N. Member of the survey corps finest nurse there ever was! well, i hope so ...

I stood outside what was known as 'HQ' a beautiful place if im honest, well... i had lived underground my whole life.

A small girl turned the corner carrying a bucket of water. "Hello?." She gave a small smile, "m-may I help you..?" She asked peering down at my dirty clothes.

"Um yes. I was given this letter a year ago." I smiled back. Handing the letter over to her, the girl looked me up and down once more, "hmm, yes, right this way then!" She said cheerily. I followed her

She was very pretty, she had beautiful ginger hair that looked very fluffy.

"So... Erwin must have scouted you along with the others, huh, you came very late!" She joked.

Others huh ...

"Yeah ... I couldn't leave my job, you see- e-Erwin i think you called him, told me I have very good skills medically, since I worked as a doctor helping the underground folk. So i suppose he assumed the soldiers up here needed some help as well." I confessed,

The girl stopped in her tracks and turned around, she was smiling yet again, "you seem nice, we should be friends- my names Petra Ral!" She beamed,

I nodded my head with a smile, "Y/N, L/N. Pleasure to meet cha Petra." She giggled and continued to walk.

TIMESKIP 10 MINUTES.

Petra led me into a big hall were many soldiers sat,
She set her water bucket down and lifted her arm up to gesture to the room,

"And thissss is the mess hall!"

I nodded with a small smile, "very spacious." I added.

Petra continued walking until she led me to a table were a man with big eyebrows and a woman with goggles sat.

That must be Erwin, I'd remember his eyebrows anywhere and i also remember that woman.

Petra beamed, "Look who I found!" She grinned.

Erwin stood up leaving his food and brushed himself down,

"Hello Y/N, it's certainly been awhile. Have you decided to join us?." He asked.

"Well... Ovbiously? I didn't just wander up from the underground for nothing." I spoke.

Petra and Erwin both fell silent at my rude comment.

"Hehehe... i mean, Yes! Only for a short while though, my patients need me." I confessed.

Erwin nodded, "do sit down, you must have journeyed quite far." He added.

The girl with goggles smiled,
She stook out her hand, "Hanji Zoe. Pleasure to meet you again young one!" She grinned,

I shook firmly, "nice to meet yah, Hanji."

Erwin spoke up, "well... we have some more coming down here soon, so be prepared to meet them, they can be a hand-ful." He added before walking away with his plate.

Petra followed him, leaving me behind with hanji.

She grinned, "Yahknow... i think you might be shorter than shorty ahahah!, it must be an underground thing." She laughed manically.

I nodded confused, damn... she was crazy.

Suddenly she jumped up, "SHORTY!! Over here!!!" She shouted causing me to jump.

I looked up at her with a raised eyebrow and then turned my head to see who this 'shorty' was.

This persons stood inches away from me and our eyes locked, My jaw nearly dropped straight onto the ground.

He spoke up, "Y/N.?" He asked.
