A Familiar Face

"Teej, are you okay?" Cyrus asked before stopping. I stopped and turned to face him.

"Not really." I said, letting out a shaky breath. Cyrus grabbed my hand and smiled at me which caused me to smile sadly back, no one could look at Cyrus Goodman smiling and not smile and if they could they definitely aren't human.

"You're going to love it, I promise." He smiled, squeezing my hand.

"I-I need to tell you something, about why I was taking pills." I said nervously. I needed to tell at least someone and I trust Cyrus.

"Go ahead." He said, taking my other hand into his.

"I-I have schizophrenia and really bad anxiety. The pills are to help my depression and give me an apatite because I forget to eat. The other pills help to keep me calm and eliminate some of the v-voices and I have to take two of each every day and night." I explained looking down.

"I'm glad you told me." He said lifting my chin up with his finger. "If you ever need to talk to someone about absolutely anything you can always come to me. I would never judge you, I promise." He added.

"Thanks Cyrus, please don't tell anyone. Not even Amber knows." I told him seriously.

"Don't worry, no one will find out." He reassured. "C'mere." He said pulling me into friendly hug. I hugged back straight away. My heart was pounding in my chest but not in a bad way this time. I felt so safe in his arms and even though I hadn't even known him for a week, my feelings for him seemed to be growing stronger.

He pulled away and smiled before taking my hand. I knew he meant it platonically but it still made me blush a lot. 

"I've got you, let's go." He said and we carried on walking.

"I'm glad I told you." I randomly said.

"Me too." He replied stroking my hand with his thumb.

We walked to school hand in hand and we let go when we started seeing students.

"We need to go to Principle Coleman to get your schedule." Cyrus said as we entered to school grounds.

"Okay, where is that?" I asked looking around at all the students.

"I'll show you." He replied opening the doors.

We walked to the Principles office and knocked the door.

"Come in!" Coleman shouted and Cyrus opened the door. I followed him in.

"Ah, you must be Mr.Kippen, boy's take a seat please." He said. Cyrus and I took a seat in front of his desk.

"Here is your schedule, I've realised that it is the exact same as Mr. Goodman's. I assume that you two are friends?" He asked.

"Yeah." We replied in unison.

"Well, Cyrus I give you the whole of first period to show Mr.Kippen around the school, here are your hall passes." He said handing us the hall passes and also handing me my schedule.

"Your Locker number is 307 which is on the middle floor and the conde is 121401." He explained and I nodded.

"Is there a name you feel more comfortable being called so that I can put it on the register?" Coleman questioned.

"Um yeah, TJ." I answered nervously.

"Very well, TJ. Welcome to Jefferson."  He smiled.

"Thank you." I replied trying not to sound nervous.

"We have exactly 46 minutes until period 1 starts so Cyrus, why don't you introduce TJ to your friends. I have a feeling he might get on well with Martin Thomas." He said.

Cyrus and I nodded as we walked out.

"Who is Martin Thomas?" I asked when the door shut behind us.

"Marty, the one I told you about." He said.

"Oh yeah, that dude. He does sound pretty cool I guess." I replied.

"Let's go and meet everyone. You feeling okay?" He said making sure I wasn't on the verge of having a nervous break down.

"Yeah, I'm fine now I know you're in all of my classes." I answered and he smiled.

"Oh TJ, one more thing!" Coleman Shouted from behind us causing us to turn around.

"Yes sir?" I questioned trying to be polite.

"Are you okay with Cyrus being here for this?" He said as he finally approached us.

"Yeah, he knows everything anyway." I replied before turning to smile at Cyrus. He smiled back but in a way I'd never seen him smile before or maybe I was over thinking it, never mind.

"Okay, well I need you to visit the nurse at some point today to discuss your Schizophrenia, just so that she's aware." He said.

"I'll visit her when Cyrus has finished showing me around." I answered.

"Okay, that's great. You're free to go now." He said before walking back to his office.

"Let's go." Cyrus said and we began walking again.

Cyrus walked me over to a table full of people. I recognised three of them but one of them I wasn't sure where I knew them from. Buffy and Andi were there and the guy next to Buffy looked like- No I was being crazy it couldn't be, it was almost impossible. 

"Hey Guy's." Cyrus greeted. 

"Hey Cyrus! Who's your friend?" The familiar guy asked.

"Oh, this is TJ." He introduced.

"Hey." I smiled awkwardly.

"Wait, you're Amber's new brother, right?" The guy asked again.

"Yeah." I replied.

"Great to met you, I'm Marty." He introduced himself.

"Captain of the basketball team, right?" I asked.

"That's me." He replied smiling.

"I'm Jonah." A brunette guy with bright green eyes said smiling. I had to stop myself from laughing about what Andi, Amber and Cyrus told me about Jonah.

"Hey, Jonah." I said with a smile.

"And I'm Walker." A dude with a blonde streak in his hair smiled. I waved back.

"Babe, are you not gonna introduce yourself?" Marty chuckled at Buffy.

"He already knows who I am, I met him yesterday." Buffy replied.

"What about you Andi, you haven't said anything." Walker said.

"You think that I haven't already met my girlfriends brother?" she questioned.

"Have you?" Jonah asked.

"Duh, I met him the day he came." She replied and I chuckled.

I still didn't know what it was with Marty though. I definitely knew him from somewhere, but where?
