Tumblr - Not mine

Heard that it was about you and Josh were on a trip and you met his very rude ex.

<<<<<<<

Holding hands you walk down the street with your boyfriend, Josh. He had brought you to his hometown and wanted to show it off to you. You happily obliged wanting to see where he grew up but what you hadn't accounted for was how many fans would be there.

Not that you didn't love them because you wholeheartedly did but it was becoming a bit much for your anxiety. So you wandered off to the side until the sea of fangirls dwindled.

As you made your way back over to Josh you tripped on someone's foot and fell. Scraping your knee you catch yourself with your hands on the pavement. "Ah crap," you exclaimed as Josh saw and helped you stand up.

"You okay babe?" he asked concern coating his voice. Brushing off your knees you nod your head.

"Yeah, I'm fine just a bit clumsy I guess," you answered unsure. You could've sworn you felt someone trip you. But who would do that and why? You didn't even know anyone here.

"Oh, Jen," he exclaimed surprised as he looked up. Lifting your head you make eye contact with a girl a bit taller than you who was wearing a grey beanie. "It's uh good to see you again," he voiced with an uncomfortable smile.

"So glad I ran into you here. You haven't come back home in a while," she observed as she tapped her fingers on her side, "and who's this? A manager?"

"No this is um my girlfriend, Y/n." When her eyes trained themselves on you, you extended your hand to shake but she left it there. Awkwardly putting it back in your pocket you cleared your throat.

"So, how do you know Josh?" you asked a bit curious as her smile widened.

"Well Joshy and I used to date," she declared with confidence. Stealing a glance at Josh you could tell he was super tense.

"Yeah but we broke up like 5 years ago," he spoke up averting his eyes from hers that were seeking desperately to make contact. You could see her other hand clutching her purse so tight her knuckles were starting to turn white. Oh no.

"Who knows we can always try again," she replied as if you weren't even there.

"Well seeing that I have a girlfriend whom I love, I genuinely doubt it," he responded as he felt protectiveness wash over him. Reaching down he held your hand and gave it a quick squeeze. He would not let her make you feel bad about yourself.

"Come on, I know you don't want to be with someone so boring," she said rolling her eyes. Boy was she really going for it.

"If I'm so boring then why would he want to be with me over you?" you shoot back angrily. You could not believe this girl had the audacity to try and steal your boyfriend right in front of you. Like hell you were going to be passive about it.

"Ugh, stay out of this, it's none of your business sweetheart," she sneered looking at you as if you were the most disgusting thing she's ever seen.

"I disagree, he's my boyfriend so it is my business, sweetheart," you scoffed as she tried staring you down. You could tell she was at her breaking point but you didn't care, you were pissed. Then she slapped you, hard. That's when Josh put himself between you and her. More for her sake because he knew you'd probably tear her to pieces.

"Okay, you need to leave. Now," he snapped at her as she tried to defend herself as to why she slapped you. Saying it was really your fault. "I'm going to say this once, I don't love you anymore. I will not love you so you need to leave me and Y/n alone. If I have to, I will file a restraining order." She just looked at you then him and stormed off. Turning back to you Josh took your head in his hands as he inspected your face. "It left a mark," he muttered with a frown.

"I'm fine Josh, it hurt for a second but I'm fine," you insist as he kisses your cheek. "You know now that you kissed it I can't feel it. You must have magical kisses," you joked as he bit back a smile.

"Oh really?" he mused as he kissed your cheek again.

"Really, really."

"I'm really sorr-" he started but you weren't going to let him blame himself for this.

"You don't need to apologize. It was her fault not yours," you assured him as you kissed the palm of his hand.

"Okay but let's get home and ice it, you don't want it to swell," he declares as the two of you start walking again. You took the scenic route despite Josh's protests. But his town was just so beautiful. The leaves were starting to change colors and everything was golden. There was a comfortable silence that swallowed the sound until you broke it.

"Real talk, do you think I could've taken her?"

"She wouldn't have stood a chance."
