---------- Chapter 3 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chelsea! She's the one who's messing with my head!
I've just sorted through all of Aro's thoughts, and I know Chelsea is the one who controls the bond between people! No wonder it's been so hard to focus on my family!
It's not that I don't care, it's just that I'm being forced to change my allegiance.
Hmm, so what if I mirror her ability?
What if I sever the feeling of love and allegiance of the guards towards the Volturi?
"Henry?" Aro calls out.
"Aro?" I call back, not bothering to stand up.
"Stand you great oaf!" Jane hisses at me. I roll my eyes at her and stand up.
"Henry? Don't you miss your family?" Aro asks out of the blue.
"Umm...yes. Of course I miss my family!" I answer back without any hesitation.
I catch Aro throwing Chelsea a disappointed look. Chelsea hangs her head in shame. Ah! So it is true! That's what Aro asked Chelsea to do! This was a test...and I failed...I wonder what the repercussions are going to be.
"Henry, why don't you go and visit them?" Aro continues, as if nothing happened.
"Visit my family?" I ask, perplexed. There's definitely something going on here.
"Yes, of course! You are not a prisoner here, you know that!" Aro scolds.
I nod my head curtly and bow low, as a sign of my appreciation.
"Now, while you are with your family, I would ask you to do me a favour," Aro continues.
I nod eagerly. Anything that will allow me to meet my family.
"I need you to go to Egypt, on your way back. There is a coven there, four members. This family has wronged us greatly, Henry," he whispers in a dramatic whisper. "I need you to finish off the two older vampires. Bring me the younger two. They were not involved, and they deserve to be pardoned," he continues. "Can you do that?"
"Of course, Aro. But...what has this coven done to you?" I ask.
"It is none of your concern! When we tell you to do something, you don't ask why. You say yes and do it," Caius explodes from the other end of the room.
I snarl at him, and he looks at me in disbelief.
"Calm, Henry." Aro soothes.
"Brother, Henry likes to think and rationalise things! Leave him be! We have nothing to hide, do we?" Aro asks his brother.
Caius mutters something and sweeps out of the room.
"The older vampires in the coven have been trying to create a vampire with special powers so they could surpass our power," Aro clarifies.
I nod my head again.
"That's my boy. You shall take Jane, Alec and Chelsea with you," Aro murmurs, his back towards me already.
Jane grimaces, but Alec looks amused.
"Chelsea? Join me in my chambers, will you?" Aro calls sweetly. Chelsea nods and walks out of the room with him.
"Let's get this straight, no matter what, I'm in charge!" Jane calls out.
I smirk at her and sit on the chair, watching her with amusement.
