Hayley pushed Bella behind her, the protective urge returning. "Back off." She growled at the men.

"What's your problem?" One of the men slurred, placing an hand on Hayley's shoulder.

The Kenner girl quickly shoved the man away. "I said back off!" She yelled as the man stumbled.

The group of men surrounded the two girls, all saying disgusting comments and trying to touch them.

"Don't touch me!" Bella yelled, her voice shaking in fear.

Hayley's head turned to look at the man that was bothering Bella. The older man was smiling at the Swan girl as he twirled a piece of her brown hair between his fingers. Hayley's blood began to boil as she stormed over to the two. She quickly removed the man's hand from Bella's hair before punching the man in the face.

The man fell to the ground, his nose bloody as he cried out in pain. "You bitch," he said.

"That wasn't very nice," A man said from behind Hayley before gripping her shoulder.

"Neither is touching under age girls," Hayley said, her eyes glowing yellow as she turned around and punched the man.

Bella quickly kneed the man that was holding her in the groin, making him let go of her. The sound of an approaching car and tires screeching caught the two girls' attention. The familiar silver Volvo came to a screeching stop right in front of them. Jasper jumped out of the car and rushed over to Hayley, while Edward went to Bella. 

Jasper looked at Hayley's glowing yellow eyes and the injured men on the ground with a shocked look on his face. He quickly walked over to her and grabbed her hand. "Come on, Hayley," he said quietly as he watched the girl's eyes fade into their original dark brown. "Let's get in the car."

Hayley swallowed thickly and nodded her head before following Jasper to the car. The two climbed into the backseat and Edward quickly drove off.

"I should go back there and rip those guys' heads off," Edward said as he gripped the steering wheel tightly.

Jasper said nothing as he wrapped his arms around Hayley, who was laying against him.

"No, you shouldn't," Bella told him.

"You don't know the vile, repulsive things they were thinking," Edward said.

"Or feeling," Jasper added, causing Hayley to sit up.

"And you do?" Bella asked, looking at the adoptive brothers.

"It's not hard to guess," Edward lied. "Can you talk about something else? Distract me so I won't turn around."

"You should put you seat belt on," Bella tried.

Edward laughed. "You should put your seat belt on," he retorted as he raced around a car.

"Put your damn seat belt on, Bella," Hayley said from the back seat.

Bella looked back at the Kenner girl. "You don't have one on," She pointed out.

"I'll be fine," Hayley told her.

Bella sighed. "How did you do that?" She questioned her friend. "You hit those guys like they were nothing. I mean, how is your hand not broken? Is it even bruised?"

Hayley shifted uncomfortably in the backseat, noticing Edward staring at her through the mirror. "I had to protect you," she said.

Edward stopped the car in front of the restaurant that Hayley and Bella were supposed to meet Jessica and Angela in. The two girls quickly got out of the car when they saw Jess and Angela leaving.
