"One, a non-alcoholic mimosa is just an orange juice. And two, I can't drink." She said, because she too was pregnant. With twins. "Somebody should drink. You should drink."
Elena smiled. "I will drink, eventually. But, I have human tolerance now, which is cheaper but a lot less fun." She clinked her glass against Jo's. "Cheers!" She then rushed to Jo's phone, which began to ring. "Oh. oh! Relax." She said to the bride before answering. "Jo's phone--Oh, huh--Okay.."
"That's not an okay okay. That's a theres a problem okay." Jo stressed.
"Yeah, we'll call you back. Bye." Elena hung up the phone and turned to Jo after a moment. "Danielle's got the flu."
"Huh. It sounded like you just said, 'Danielle has the flu,' which is impossible, because Danielle is my wedding coordinator."
"Here lies Elena Gilbert, a fun girlfriend and an amazing friend." Elena tossed flowers into the water below, standing on the very familiar Wickery Bridge. She let out a laugh.
Beside her stood Matt Donovan, who was in shock and upset. "I'm glad one of us can find humor in this."
"I have to find humor in this, Matt. Because the alternative," she paused. "the alternative would be to say good-bye, and I'm just.. I'm not ready for that yet."
Upstairs, Poppy wore a robe, curling the last bit of hair on her head. She hadn't done her makeup yet, but there wasn't much to do so she wasn't stressing about it. She took a breath and set down the curler, beginning to feel nauseous.
"Are you okay?" Silas asked when she stood up, ironing his suit.
Poppy nodded. "Yeah, I'm just going to get something to eat." She said before leaving the bedroom and walking to the stairs. Slowly, she walked down them.
"Poppy!" Caroline exclaimed from the hallway. "How are you feeling?"
The hybrid looked at her. "I'm okay, I just need a little something to eat and then I'll join you guys."
The vampire nodded. "Good! Your dress is in the foyer. You just need to steam it and find some shoes."
"Okay." Poppy smiled and walked to the kitchen.
Caroline smiled and walked into the study where the other girls were. "To be honest, I think maybe this is a good thing! Because no matter how good Danielle was, I am pretty sure I'm better." She hugged Elena, who rushed to her with a big smile.
"Caroline, I missed you!"
"I missed me, too."
The blonde pulled away from the hug. "Thank you for getting me back."
"Hi!" Bonnie greeted, tears in her eyes.
Caroline walked to Bonnie and hugged her tightly. "Hi!" She pulled away after a few moments. "Okay, now, we've got a lot to do and not a lot time to do it. Elena, just have a drink, you're not going to pass out."
Elena walked to the table to make herself a drink.
"Bonnie, the switch is on the left-hand side on the back."
"Oh!" The witch walked to the steamer.
"And Jo, I can see your shoes under the couch." Caroline winked. "Okay, now, who's dealing with the boys?"
In the kitchen, Poppy was making little roll up ham and cheese sandwiches and placing them on a platter one by one, music playing from her phone on the counter.
