Ellie's P.O.V

"Hey, you know homecoming's only a couple weeks from today right?" Natalie asked me while being sprawled out on my bed. All of my girl friends were over and planned on spending the night, it was only one o'clock in the afternoon, so we were deciding what to do with our day.

"Yeah, any of you guys have a dress yet?" My friends all sighed with a no and after five minutes of silence, I knew what we were going to do. "Ladies, let's go!"

"Where?" Katie questioned.

"To the mall to find our dresses!" I happily answered.

"I'll drive." Kristen was always the first to volunteer, but we didn't mind.

"Does everyone have enough money with them?" I asked as we got out of the car and into the parking lot of our fair sized mall.

"Yup!" They all chimmed at once. I was taken aback by how they were right on time with each other. The look on my face must have been interesting, because Kristen started laughing, which caused the rest of us to start.

We headed into the first dress shop we saw, which happened to be Debs. We were all skimming through the racks, picking out anything that we, or each other, might want to try on. It was our Senior Homecoming, so the dresses with choose have to be perfect.

"Do you guys like this one?" I asked my friends and they all looked up to examen the clothing held up in the air.

"It's blue, go figure!" Katie playfully rolled her eyes. I had a problem with only liking things that were shades of blue or green, so my friends would always point it out when I asked there opinion on clothing of those colors.

"It's teal actually." Natalie piped in.

"See! Thanks Nat, and considering you three wouldn't let me buy a blue or green dress for homecoming the other three years, I think I should be able to get the color I want!" I was almost protesting right in the middle of the store.

They all sighed before agreeing on letting me get the dress color I wanted and we all went into the dressing rooms to try on our findings.

We tried on loads of dresses, well some only so we could get a good laugh out of it, but by the time we were done with the store, we all had our perfect dresses.

Natalie's was light purple and strapless with a sweet heart neckline that was outlined in gems. it had a simple, poofy bottom, that fit her perfectly.

Kristen had a Light green dress that really brought out her tan skin. It was tight fitting all the way down, and had one strap going along her right shoulder.

Katie's dress was a deep blue. It was the same style as Natalie's, but with sparkles up on the top instead of gems. The poofy bottom had bits of black underneath the blue coating, which was also glittery.

After a long debate between me and my friends, (they won) I ended up getting a strapless teal dress. It was silky up top, with a row of sparkles and silver gems seperating the silk from the semi-poofy bottom. There was small sparkles sprinkled along the bottom, similar to Katie's, but not exactly the same.

We were all happy with our dresses and talked hair on the way back to the car. Until Kristen brought up dates. We knew she was going with Cole, her boyfriend of a couple months now, but I didn't think the rest of us were sure until....

"Well, we know Ellie's going with Alex!" Natalie squeeled.

"Yeah, but he hasn't asked me yet, so you never know!" I shot back. Everyone rolled there's eyes at me as we continued the conversation.

"Anyways, I was actually planning on asking Jack." Natalie nonchalantly said. All of our mouths dropped.

"What!" We all yelled. Natalie, quiet Natalie, was going to ask a guy to Homecoming. I mean I'm positive he'd say yes, but I didn't expect her to work up the nerve to ask him herself.

"Yeah, I mean, you're all going to have dates, so I figured I'd grow some balls and ask him myself!" She happily told us. We all agreed, until I realized she said 'you're all'.

"What about Katie?" I asked.

"Well after making-out with Drew all night last week, he asked her after the football game." I was in complete shock.

"How could you not tell me this!" I yelled at her with anger and excitement in my voice.

"I'm so sorry, it's just that you were having such a hard time with your Lane situation, I figured you didn't want to hear it." She quietly said. I was fine with it, but I just can't believe that two of my best friends got together, and I was too blind to see it. I need to work on listening to Katie and the twins more, and that's exactly what we did. We drove back to my house, put in a pizza, and just talked.

Lanes P.O.V

"Yeah, that ones great." I blankly stared at yet another homecoming dress, and let me tell you, after about the tenth one, they all started to look the same.

"Babe, c'mon, you said that about the last three!" Peyton whinned at me. She had dragged me dress shopping with her, and I couldn't care less about it right now.

"It's because they all look hot on you babe!" I gave her my best convincing smile, but I couldn't tell if she bought it or not; she rolled her eyes and just laughed.

"Well I have one more, so your almost done suffering!" She yelled from behind the dressing room door.

I stopped listening as my mind wandered to homecoming night. It was going to be a lot of fun. Hopefully I would get to go to dinner and everything else with my friends, but if Ellie's still pissed, I don't even know if I want to go. Our fighting has been going on for a while now, and usually I wouldn't care, and she'd come back to me, but now with Alex in the picture....I just don't know.

My thoughts were stopped as I turned to see Peyton in her final dress. Sure she looked great in the other ones, but this one was by far the greatest.

"You like it?" She asked when she saw the "wow" look on my face.

"Babe, you look perfect..." I managed to get out, and its true she did. The orange dress really brought out her eyes...and boobs.

"Eyes up here Hot Shot." I blushed and gave her a cocky smile and she playfully laughed, walking back into the dressing room. She changed back into her normal clothes, paid for the dress, and we left. On our way out to the car, I swear I saw Ellie, but I figured I was imagining things and focussed back on Peyton.

"So, I was wondering," I said to Peyton as I dropped her off at her house. "If you would do me the honor of being my date to homecoming?" She squeeled and agreed, followed by a quick make out session goodbye, and then me driving back to my place alone with my thoughts.

I was nervous, not that she would say no, but that I was making the right choice. I liked Peyton, I really did, more then any of my past girlfriends. The thing was, I got this feeling when I asked her, it was weird, I felt really hot and I got a bit dizzy, almost exactly how it felt when I kissed her for the first time.

My eyes widened at the thought that once again popped into my head. I need to shake this thought, just like I did the last time.
