☠️ starting 2023 off RIGHT with two of the biggest sources of my brainrots: barry and maya
☠️ when writing them down, and realising the sheer quantity of fics i have for maya / maya & barry, i am tad embarrassed. it's a little awkward. i don't know how to explain that. most of them will never leave my drafts if that's any consolation?
☠️ ANYWAYMAYA BLACK IS FINALLY HERE SOMEBODY SEDATE ME !! kinda feels unhinged that after. solid,,,,, YEARS. of only posting about her on insta and talking to friends about her that i'm finally posting one of her fics ???
☠️ so even tho i've titled this as a barry allen fic, the romance is like a subplot. maya is THE first oc i created, back in her original form as a flash/dctv oc in 2015 and this fic predominantly focuses on HER. i really love her and this version of her character has been in the works a while so pls excuse me if i'm a total perfectionist about this fic
☠️ in that respect, the first act of this fic will be an origin story or sorts for maya; it will cover the arrival of her powers, her facing her past & demons and the subsequent decision to atone for her sins, crossing paths / being sought out by diana and bruce and, eventually, her first steps back towards the light
☠️ these plot lines, as well as the later progression this story will take when venturing into actual DCEU films (possibly flashpoint (liv's version)? if it ever comes out?), may mean i write about sensitive, dark and potentially triggering topics. please look after yourselves. don't read on if this makes you uncomfortable!
