Everyone stared at her questioningly, Five internally cringing at her decisions. Hazel knew this an almost laughed at the sight of his fists clenched.
"Well, I figured it was time for your whole organization to try something new," Hazel put her hands behind her back "Ronald Dunphy is the security guard at Wonders' Mall. He is also on the verge of going broke, and is depending on his job as his only source of income. By plugging in all of his electronic devices, his electricity bill goes up, excess income goes down," she said "too bad for him, he's madly in love with his girlfriend, Katrina, and plans to propose to her in Aruba,"
"And?,"
"And, so he has to work overtime to make up for that bill. So, he works his day shift and the night shift which pays double the amount. Obviously, the man comes home tired, is knocked out, doesn't get woken up by his alarm clock," she stuffed her hands in her jacket "Donald is in charge of the hounds. The dogs don't follow his co guard, since he's new. So, staff decides not to let the dogs work for just a day. Perfect time for the terrorist to come in, without any dogs to track down the ammonium nitrate and fuel in his bomb. Donald Peters could try to warn the guards, but how could they ever find the bomb without the dogs?,"
Gloria looked at her in amusement and clapped her hands supportively. By the time she was finished, the smile on Five's face has completed- he felt somewhat proud.
"You don't need to kill Peters, just to reset Ronald's body clock," she shrugged "quite a risk, I know, but whatever isn't impossible could be the truth,"
"Hm, you've got some competition," The Handler joked towards Five and crossed her arms at her "I've gotta say, Hazel, I'm deeply impressed, now I see why you wanted her here,"
Five gave her a satisfied nod, while Hazel snapped her head towards him. She gave him an almost interrogating and threatening look, while he avoided eye contact.
In a matter of hours, the results from their cases have made their way back into the company. It wasn't surprising for Five to discover that both their plans were successful. The news spread like wildfire- two teenagers come in and suddenly they're golden children.
"I'm sure you've all heard that Mr. Five and Ms. Hazel have proven to be adept with a pen as they are with their swords- yes, I've seen you in action, Miss Hazel," She turned slightly to the girl "Let their efforts serve as inspiration to you all. Herb! How long have you been on the Lusitania?,"
"Oh- well, uh," The man stuttered uncomfortably in his desk and adjusted himself
"Sorry?,"
"I-uh, when I first started-,"
"Still can't hear you,"
The man was saved by the bell when it rang, marking the start of lunch time. He quickly got up from his seat and walked away in a hurried pace. The two teenagers stayed behind and kept sitting on their seats, only looking at each other when everyone left the room.
"What the hell?," was the only thing Hazel was able to croak out, standing up at the same time Five did.
"Look, it was the only way. You weren't part of the timeline and the only possible way she wouldn't kill you is if she could use you," He went over quickly, before she could react "I think we can still stop the apocalypse,"
"I think so too," she agreed and walked over to the files "we need to be as discreet as possible, I can't even imagine what would happen if we get caught,"
"Right," Five nodded and stuffed a red folder under his shirt. "C'mon, let's go," He walked to the bathroom with Hazel tailing him, opening a stall door and entering. The girl followed him inside.
The two were only able to open the file up when The Handler entered the bathroom, her red stilettos clicking against the floor.
"Shit," the two almost said in unison when she entered the stall next to theirs.
"So how's your first day going?,"
"Couldn't be better," Five answered for the two of them. Her skirt went down and the sound of urinating filled the silence, then the lady started to cough.
"I burned my rugae. Ever burn your rugae?," she asked, making the teenage girl fight back a laugh. "The ridges on the hard palate that help pass food to the esophagus- anyway, I'm on a liquid diet for two days, hence the marathon of urination,"
The toilet paper started whirr and the sound of rushing stopped. The two looked at each other, their eyes widened with fear.
"You know we value integrity in the office above all else. Trust is built over time and in the event of a breach, the commission will act swiftly and mercilessly," She preached, making the girl's skin turn hot.
The toilet flushed and the two could see her legs walk over to the faucet, the water running.
"I'm feeling peckish. Have you had your lunch?,"
"Not yet,"
"Great. How would you like to have lunch with me in my office?," she started to walk towards their stall, adrenaline pumping through the two's veins.
Five took off his jacket and loosened his tie, then started to ruffle his hair up. Hazel got the message and took her jacket off, then repeatedly ran her hands through her hair.
"You can eat solid foods and I can live vicariously," she walked to the stall and took a peak, just in time for Five to pull Hazel against his body "through you- oh!,"
Five pushed Hazel's body away from his and the two pretended to act flustered, panting a little bit to add to the effect. The Handler looked in between the two in shock, but a smile growing on her face.
"I can't say I'm surprised, I saw how you two looked at each other," she winked mischievously at the pair "so I'll be seeing both of you for lunch?,"
"Sounds great.
Yes." The two said together, and the Handler walked out of the room almost rushingly.
"Fuck!," Hazel whispered, a laugh of disbelief out her mouth "that was so close!,"
"I know," a laugh grew on Five's face as he tightened his tie up his neck "it was crazy,"
