You are walking down the empty hallway of the Akatsuki base, returning back from the previous mission Pein sent you, assassinating a shinobi who has intel against the organization. Arriving at Pein's office, you knock on the door and afterwards heard a 'come in' that you enter inside.

"Pein-sama." You bowed down in respect before eyeing the dark orange-haired shinobi. "I have annihilated the traitor you seek of." You spoke, staring into his rinnegan eyes and he responded with a satisfied hum in return. "You did a fine job, (First Name). Be on stand by for your next mission." Pein spoke before arranging his paper work on his desk. You bowed down once more and replied. "Yes, Pein-sama." and step out of his office, closing the door gently behind you.

Letting out a breath, you began heading towards the living room to wait for your next orders. Upon reaching your destination, you notice Itachi was inside, sitting on the couch whilst reading the book you recommended to him a few days ago.

"And here I though you weren't interested." You spoke up as you sit down beside the raven-haired male, eyeing you for a bit before reverting his attention to the book at hand. "Aren't you supposed to be on a mission? Where's Kisame?" You questioned and he paused in his reading, giving you his full attention, his sharingan orbs staring into your (Eye Color) irises.

"He was given a different task. Pein will be teaming us for another mission." Itachi responded, his face stoic, although his tone of voice was different than usual.

"I see then." You nod your head in agreement and silence fall in between and at this very moment it was tranquil as it always have been.

Leaning back against the couch, you made yourself comfortable. Wanting to take a bit of sleep before Pein would summon you both, stealing a glance at Itachi. You eyed his features as he continued reading his book and you blush at the thought in attempting to lean on his shoulder. It would've been a lie not having any feelings for the Uchiha, although it was forbidden for he's a fellow Akatsuki member, and may cause hindrance, including the fear of rejection was ever present causing a dull pain in your chest.

Your eyelids began to get heavy and you shut your eyes close, letting slumber to take over you, and drift into sleep. Not getting the chance to see the soft gaze Itachi was giving you. Heaving a short sigh, the Uchiha set his book on the table before going back to your unconscious body, his sharingan eyes eyeing your beautiful visage.

Making sure you were fast asleep, he cup your cheeks and caress it lovingly with his thumb and tuck a strand of your (Hair Color) hair behind your ear, not receiving any reaction from you, he began shifting himself comfortably before carefully pulling you towards him, setting your head against his chest, and embracing you from behind.

Resting his chin on top of your head, Itachi inhales the scent of the shampoo you recently applied and then place a short kiss on your forehead, leaning against the armrest of the couch afterwards as your body cuddle closely to him that he found irresistible.

"Yare, yare." Itachi slightly tightens his embrace on you. It would seem... I still need to rethink about the future.
