It's Really You (Newt Scamander x Reader)

Your P.O.V.

That one holiday in your third year changed everything. Newt had stayed at Hogwarts to look after the hurt raven chick you both found. When you came back at the beginning of a new term, Newt introduced you to Leta LeStrange. She wasn't bad. Leta was a very talanted witch. You did not understand why she was being bullied or why she had been staying at Hogwarts every holiday.

She was interested in magical creatures as well. Newt looked very happy while around her, and since he was your best friend you were glad that he was happy. He just had found himself one more friend. It is not like he can't have any other friends than you. You weren't really great friends with Leta but if Newt trusted her, then you could too.

And so it became the three of you. At first everything was great. It was you, Newt and Leta. But then it became more like only Newt and Leta.

Somewhere in the beginning of your fourth year you realised that you had a crush on Newt. He was just so sweet and kind, and passionate. You couldnt find a single reason why most people didn't like him.

That is also the time when Newt almost completely stopped spending time with you. He was still calling you his best friend. But, was it really so?

You developed an anxiety. What if Newt didn't like you anymore. What if you don't look good enough? What if you smelled weird? What if he likes Leta LeStrange?

Also you did develop a rare talent called Wandless Magic. For now you could only levitate objects without your wand. And you could cast Spells without the incantations, using your wand of course.

Newt would always go for a walk with Leta, go into the Forbidden Forest with her, go on trips to Hogsmeade with her. And not you. He rarely spoke to you now. That is why you started to spend a lot of time somewhere deep inside the forest or in the Ravenclaw Tower. You befriended a ghost of Helena Ravenclaw. She told you that you were one of the nicest human beings she had ever seen.

When you would spend time in the Forbidden Forest, you would look for creatures, watch them, take notes, draw sketches. But creatures weren't the only ones you sketched. You also had a lot of drawings of Newt. He always used to tell you how good you were at drawing. Well, he was pretty good too. You missed having him around. You just wished that he would tell you why he was so distant. What have you done wrong? Did you annoy him or something?

Today is your Deffence Against the Dark Arts lesson. Right now you were in your dorm room preparing everything for another lonely day at Hogwarts. As soon as you were done you swung your satchel over your shoulder and walked out of the dorms, dressed up in your robes. You walked down the Staircase and entered the Great Hall. You sat down at your usual spot with a solemn expression on your face and started eating breakfast. Suddenly you heard a familiar voice. You lifted your head just high enough to glance at the two particular students. Newt and Leta were discussing something that was written in Newt's notebook. You looked down. Why did he stop spending time with you? Where you really that bad? You just wanted to understand what is wrong. If Newt doesn't want to spend time with you, why can't he just tell you?

As soon as you finished your meal, you headed to the Deffence Against the Dark Arts classroom.

You were so tired of this. If you weren't, well, you, you would have already talked to him. But you were still your awkward, anxious self so you just sat in the corner and kept quiet.

You walked into the classroom to find out that no one except professor Dumbledore was there. When he heard your footsteps he turned to face you. As soon as he saw you a smile apeared on his face. Behind him stood a curiously looking wardrobe with mirror doors.
