*Ally's Pov*
What was wrong with me? I had been kidnapped, yet my mind was juggling the guy who did this to me. I could not allow myself once to even consider the possible idea that I felt something for him. It was absolutely ridiculous.
So, when Olivia called me downstairs later that evening, I had a strong feeling it was about earlier's events. My mind had not left the past since, and I was completely confused.
I was halfway down the stairs when I saw Olivia, her worn, eyes filled with compassion as she watched me walk toward her.
Olivia was a tall woman, about as tall as my mother once was. She was the kind of woman you would expect to see on cooking shows, and she had the face of an angel. Obscure eyes that seemed wise, although she looked to be in her mid thirties to forties. Oak brown hair that extended a little past her broad shoulders, and pale skin.
"Ah, Allyson," she greeted with a sigh, so heavily drawn in that you could here it as she spoke, "It has been quite a while since I last saw you."
My mind was off track, but I definitely knew that something off was going on. I had never seen her before my kidnapping, and I don't think she was one of Mom's friends.
"I've never met you before Dylan introduced you to me," I clarify, eyeing her suspiciously.
"See," she turned back towards the kitchen, her hands holding a picture frame turned backwards, "You have, darling."
My eyes met her's, and she gave me a weak smile before handing me the picture.
I flipped it around to see a young woman holding a fragile baby in her arms. She looked a lot like Olivia, and she was about twenty.
"Welcome home, Allyson."
*Dylan's Pov*
I kicked the pebbles with anger, watching them fly in different directions. Each one of my pack members sat in a circle around me, their faces blank, which gave me no comfort at all.
"So, you tried to kiss her, and she got all freaked out?" Jordan, my beloved beta spoke.
"Yeah," I replied, frown on my face and my thoughts taking me into new possibilities, "It was like she was uncomfortable with the though of me being near her."
"Dude," Cody placed a firm hand on my shoulder, pushing me to sit down on the log, "Get a grip on yourself! For heaven's sake's, you kidnapped her! Just give her time to get used to her new surroundings, and let her be for now."
I sighed, realizing he was right. I mean, she has absolutely no idea her life is a complete lie, and I don't want to be the one to explain that to her. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I made her upset.
"But, what if he takes her before I can get a chance with her?" I ask, my anger rising in my chest once again.
"What do you mean?" Xander questioned, and I instantly regretted telling them this.
"Kyle is back, and I've noticed his particular fascination with Ally. He has been stalking her for the past few days, and I think I know why," I explained, my blood running cold at the mere thought of him touching my mate.
"Is it because of Grace?" Cody asked, a frown appearing on his face.
"No. I think it was because of . . . " I trailed off, not wanting to here the words come out of my mouth.
'Because of what?" they all pressed, leaning forward in anticipation.
"I think Ally is also his mate."
Silence dominates over them all, and I can hear the silent breeze brushing past us.
"How could that be? How did Kyle even manage to make it back?" Xander finally asked, breaking the silence that seemed to scream in my ears.
"I don't know," I replied honestly, "I just want to make sure he doesn't get near Ally."
"But, how could she be mated to both of you?" Cody wondered, his eyebrows knitted together in confusion.
"I honestly don't have any answers, but I think that we all know who might," Xander commented, referring to the one we all knew so well.
I think it's about time we pay him a visit.
*Grace's Pov*
I was honestly surprised to find Dylan, alone, pounding on my door this late in the evening. But, then again, I knew that he was probably coming to scold me about my pack messing with his territory.
"Grace, it's important," he called through the door, and he didn't sound like his normal, hateful self.
I opened the latch, allowing him to step inside, and I noticed that he was worried. It was written all over his face.
"Where is Kyle?" he asked, and surprise flooded through me.
"Kyle's dead," I bitterly replied, remembering the past events that shouldn't surface.
"No, he's not," Dylan returned my cold voice, pounding his fist hard against the oak walls, "I want to know now where he is, or else."
I scoffed loudly, rolling my eyes at his pitiful attempt to scare me.
"Please, you couldn't do anything to me. And, I told you that he is dead. You were there when he was killed."
"Grace," he spat harshly, "He is back. I saw him with my own eyes. I know that you are helping him."
"What?" I blinked with surprise.
Kyle's dead, right? I saw his murder happen right before me, and I was the one who mourned over his loss years ago. He can't be back, there is just no possible way that he could be.
It wasn't true.
"Dylan, I don't know why you are accusing me of this. I honestly have no idea where he is, and I didn't even know that he is alive!" I threw my hands about, exasperated.
He narrowed his eyes, and gave me a skeptical look, searching my face for a flaw. But, I was telling the truth. It shocked me to here about something so . . . weird.
"I'll be back, and you better start giving me some answers," he demanded, turning and running off.
Well, I'd like to have some answers too.
*Unknown's Pov*
The back of the truck was loaded and ready, but I knew that I wasn't. What I was going to do is extremely dangerous, and I know that I have to take the extra precautions. Someone can wind up injured because of my decisions, and I can't let that happen.
We winded the corner inside of the truck, and I inhaled a deep breath, the air stinging my lungs. I couldn't do this. I just wasn't ready. But, I had the people that I hated on my backs, pushing me past my limits. I also had her, the one I knew I needed to protect, filling my mind, clogging my thoughts. I had to focus, or else the plan would fail.
In hauling a deep breath, I waited silently for the truck to come to a halt. All that I could hear was my heartbeat, pounding loudly in my ears, increasing my anxiety.
What was I waiting for?
I was ready to take back what was rightfully mine.
