“But, but he never told you why?” I ask knowing the answer, but before even thinking the words had already left my mouth.

“Yea Ella never… I was never told nor given and explain for it. He simply left me in oblivion. I got so depressed I couldn’t handle seeing him so much in practice, that’s why I decided to quit cheerleading.”

I stopped this conversation before it could continue because I was already feeling Maya’s eye tear up once again. I know enough. Jace is a jerk that hurt an amazing’s girl heart simply because he felt like it, without even giving her an explanation. Douchebag.

The next day I woke up exhausted, and I have no idea why.

During my first class period, Geometry, with the “fabulous” Jace I felt disgusted by him. I wanted to say so much right at his face but I couldn’t because I had made a promise, one that was becoming harder to keep every second of my existence.

“Pair up!” Ms. Ortega says.

Before I even realize it, Jace is already sitting next to me. Ugh. It’s hard having a perfect human being sitting next to you, and trying to force yourself to hate him, when you know deep, deep down that you don’t.

On recess I couldn’t find Maya, or any of her friends for that matter. I started making the line to buy some food, hoping they would appear, but they didn’t.

“Ella come on, sit with me” Jace says from behind me kind of touching my waist. Crap he’s hot. I’m honestly trying to avoid him, but it’s becoming very hard, and since Maya’s nowhere to be found, why not I guess? After all, he has been nothing but nice to me. “Sure” I say.

5 minutes before recess was over, Maya, Brenda, Isadora, and Katherine decide to finally appear. I could see the shock on Maya’s face when she saw me having a good time with Jace, she got mad, even though I know she wont admit it, I know she did.

“Maya where were you guys?! I’ve been looking for you during the entire recess.”

“We were just practicing in the auditorium” she tells me.

“Practicing? But, I thought you were not in the cheerleading team anymore?”

“I’m not, but that doesn’t mean I have to stop going to their practices or helping them out. After all I was the captain you know.”

Yeap she’s mad.

“Sure… listen, I was only sitting with him because you were nowhere to be found, and he was actually nice enough to invite me to sit with them.”

“It’s fine, it’s fine I should’ve told you we were going to be practicing, it was my bad sorry”

I love the fact that Maya has the purest heart, and how she will always find the best in you. “Come on let’s go to my locker, I have Biology now ugh” I say. She laughs and nods.
