The words she was looking at began to blur, and she rubbed her eyes, trying to focus her vision more, but it didn't work. She flipped a few pages, but still she couldn't make out the words.
"This isn't working." Poppy said, setting down the book on a table. She turned to her husband, who closed his own book and looked at her. "Your ex is a raging witch bitch." She walked to a clear board and grabbed a white marker, beginning to brainstorm. Tapping the marker against her finger, she slipped into her thoughts. From her lips escaped whispers of what she was thinking. "The cure was made so Silas would take it, so he could die...he'd find Amara and share it....but Qetsiyah didn't want them to live together...Katherine..."
Silas leaned forward and observed as she thought. Katherine? What did Katherine have to do with it?
Poppy raised her hand to the board and began writing bullet points. After a few she stopped and rubbed her eyes again, the words even more blurry than before.
Silas watched as she frowned and looked down at her hands, then around the room. "Honey, are you okay?" He stood up.
"No, I think I'm going blind.." Poppy continued tapping the marker against her finger until she began to scratch at her hand. Everything was blurry, but she could make out slight shapes and colors. Everything was really dark. She took a deep breath, feeling a faint sensation on her hand and near her side. The sensation grew stronger when she felt a hand grab hers and a hand rest on her waist. "Silas-"
"It's okay," he told her, standing close to her. "I've got you."
Poppy brought her free hand to his arm, and she felt her way up to his shoulder. She hugged him, resting her cheek on his upper chest. She felt him envelope her in the hug and with his magic, calming her. "I can still see, but not too well..." She flinched a bit when a sudden panicked knocking came from the courtyard.
Silas pulled away from the hug and placed the sunglasses that hung on her dress on her face before taking her hand and leading her into the courtyard, where Hayley had rushed to.
In the doorway stood Cami, who was catching her breath and looking nervous.
"Who is it?" Poppy asked her husband quietly, holding his hand and staying glued against his side. She closed her eyes so she didn't have to strain her eyes.
Silas brought his free hand to the same arm that held his hand. He rubbed his slightly and gently. "It's Cami."
"What's wrong?" Hayley asked with a frown.
Cami looked at the three of them. "It's Klaus... Lucien has him."
Hayley turned around to yell for Freya, who entered the room with Elijah. "Freya, invite her in!" She exclaimed, and Freya nodded, suddenly overwhelmed.
"Yeah, come in, you're invited."
Hesitantly, Cami crossed through the threshold. When nothing happened to prevent her, she rushed inside more so Hayley could close the door. Poppy heard the footsteps get more inside of the courtyard.
"Tell us what happened." She heard Elijah speak.
Poppy readjusted her grip on Silas's hand.
"Lucien ambushed him. He knocked him around like it was nothing." Cami replied.
"Did he bite him?" Poppy asked quietly.
"No. I think he wanted him alive. I followed them. Lucien took Klaus back to the penthouse."
Poppy heard a phone buzz.
It was Elijah who spoke. "Lucien is demanding my presence at the Whiskey Cask. Alone and immediately. He says if I delay, Niklaus will die." His footsteps sounded a path to the door, followed by Hayley's.
