Minghao spent the next day at school thinking about Jun, and how close he had gotten with him.
He felt like he had gotten so comfortable around him in such a short space of time.
However he continued to remind himself not to get too close to Jun, after all, he was going to have to leave at some point.
Maybe he should really try to get some friends. Prepare himself for when Jun has to leave.
Why did everyone have to leave him all alone.—————
Minghao now kept his pills and water next to his bed so he didn't haven't to think to much before he went to sleep.
His gaze shifted from the bottle of pills to the corner of a photo sticking out from under his pillow. That same photo. The one of mingyu. He reached for it, gently sliding it out from underneath the pillow.
Obviously he felt sad looking at it but he managed to crack a smile looking at his friend.
He somehow felt less sad about mingyu's death, and more happy about the times they had shared while he was still alive.
His mind played a slideshow of their skiing trip that day.
Them zooming down the slopes.
Mingyu continuously falling over.
Mingyu also confessing to having a mild crush on the instructor.Minghao laughed to himself thinking of the best moments her had shared with his friend a he took a pill from the bottle and placed it in his mouth.
He gulped down some water and the same effect immediately took place.
He closed his eyes gently as his mind shifted from mingyu to Jun.
—————
When he opened his eyes, he was still sitting on the edge of his bed, but there was no sign of Jun anywhere.
He looked around the room, hoping to see Jun lurking in the shadows, trying to pull a prank on him but he was simply gone.
He could hear mild talking going on downstairs so he gently walked down and into the living room. And low and behold, there was Jun. Sitting in front of the tv, the same place minghao had left him.
Minghao cleared his throat to get jun's attention, and smiled as he saw the glowing bright boy turn around.
"Ah, I missed you." Smiled Jun, patting the seat next to him on the sofa, signalling for minghao to join him. Which of course he did.
Jun had on his lap the plate of brownies they had made last night.
"Yah, you woke up so I had to take these out of the oven myself! Why are you making me do the work?" Joked Jun playfully, to which minghao smiled at.
"Have you tried them?" Asked minghao, eagerly.
"Nope. I waited for you." Smiled Jun, as he booped minghao's nose.
As they both tried the brownies, which surprisingly tasted good, minghao stopped to ask,
"So do you just sit and wait for me to go to sleep again?"
"Yeah." Replied Jun, now looking at minghao lovingly, while minghao looked lovingly at his brownie.
"Isn't that kind of boring?" Continued minghao.
"Not really. I know I get to see you at the end so it makes it worth it." Smiled Jun.
As he said this minghao looked up at him, they're eyes meeting.
"You're pretty." Said minghao suddenly.
"What?" Laughed Jun.
Minghao suddenly stopped staring at Jun and went bright red.
"I said the brownies are good, don't you think they're good. Fairly good for-" he rambled.
"I think you're pretty too."
Minghao didn't think it was possible for him to go anymore red, but apparently he was wrong.
Jun found him utterly adorable but his smile faded as he knew what he needed to tell the boy.
"Listen.." he started.
Minghao looked back up at him, confused by his sudden change in tone.
"Im really proud of you.." continued Jun,
"You've been getting so much better.."
Minghao's smile dropped instantly as if he knew what was coming.
"This. This is our last night together." Jun said finally. Even he looked as though his eyes were welling up with tears.
"N-no it's not." Minghao Said in disbelief.
"You can't leave me! How can you leave me when you know I have no one else." He Shouted, starting to cry.
Jun cupped minghao's face in his hands, feelings his tears drop onto his skin.
"I'm sorry. But you can't rely on me forever.."
"B-but I know y-you want to stay, so just stay.." minghao cried.
"I'm so sorry.."
"Please.. even if you just stay for one more night. I'm not ready for you to leave yet.." pleaded minghao.
"Just one night?" Asked Jun.
"Yes. Even just one! You can't leave me so suddenly."
"Okay, I will stay one more night. But I need you to promise me something." Said Jun.
Minghao met eyes with him and nodded for him to continue, his cheeks still wet with tears.
"In return for me staying one more night, I need you to do something when I leave. I want you to make some friends. Please don't just stay cooped up inside all day, it makes me so upset to see you neglect yourself. You deserve so much better. Anyone would be so lucky to be friends with you. Okay?" Asked Jun, trying to hide the fact he was about to cry himself.
"I promise." Replied minghao.
