The next morning, Jax awakens to see (Y/N) stood on the balcony, wearing his top and talking hastily down the phone.

"Look, Nate, I've been busy, I didn't have time to answer your calls!"

"We can forget about the argument, yes, but I'm not coming home today."

"Because I'm here with Jax!"

There's a silence at the other end. "Hello? Nate, you still there?"

Nate replies again, his voice holding a different, more frustrated tone and she sighs.

"I have to to go. I'll text you when I'm on my way home and then we can talk properly." (Y/N) says, hanging up.

Pinching the bridge of her nose, she lets the cool breeze of the morning brush over her.

"Babe, come back to bed." Jax calls and she smiles, doing as he says. The two lie there and Jax plays with her hair. "What are we gonna do?" He asks.

"I mean, you could come back to America. With me." (Y/N) suggests and he sits up.

"For real?"

"Yeah. I was thinking about it last night and I think you should." She tells him, sitting up also.

His expression of shock turns into one of happiness and he nods. "Then let's do it."

"But first, a couple more nights in Paris." (Y/N) says, kissing him.

"(Y/N)!"

The young woman turns to see Nate and Sully stood by a car. As usual, Sully had a cigar in his mouth. Nate's smile turns to surprise as Jax steps beside her, kissing the side of her head.

"There they are."

The two walk over and (Y/N) gives Sully a hug with Nate glaring daggers at Jax.

"Guys, this is Jax... Jax, the guys." (Y/N) introduces.

"You just be Nate. (Y/N)'s told me all about you." Jax smiles.

Nate looks at her and she shrugs, ignoring his stare and engaging in conversation with Sully. Once in the car, he steals a look back at the two in the back seat.

"How long is he planning on staying?"

"Well, hopefully I'll be getting a few -" Jax begins but Nate cuts him off: "I didn't ask you, jackass."

"Nate!" (Y/N) chides. "Jax will be doing a few jobs with me and hopefully he'll have his own business soon anyway."

"Businessman, huh?" Sully asks.

"Yeah. My father's big in that game and I'm sure to inherit his business." Jax replies.

Nate grumbles something, sinking lower into the seat.

A few months pass and (Y/N) and Jax were still together. He had managed to get his father's business, becoming more invested each day.

(Y/N) still did the odd few jobs, but had lost contact with Nate, after having another blazing row. She thought she could handle not having him around, not telling him every little detail.

She thought that her and Jax were fine. That life was fine.

But slowly, the thread had became loose and was about to be pulled at any second.
