• After retrieving the lions•
Avery's POV
I'm seriously panicking right now. What if dads wondering where I am right now? What if the farm needs helping? All the thoughts are pushed away when the lions arrive. I immediately feel a connection with the white lion, I notice the others have some feeling too. I feel a warm purring in my chest.
"Hello. You are my new paladin, I'm White." White says, bowing down and opening her mouth, inviting me in. I notice my lion is much smaller than the others except green, which Pidge is already clambering into. I walk into the lion and something just told me how to do the controls. Before I do anything I still walk out, sitting on one of her paws.
"Something tells me we're gonna be great friends." I say in my head.
The purring comes again.
"Great friends." White replies. Allura tells all the paladins to follow her. I say goodbye to white and follow Allura to what looks like a training deck. 
"Let's see what your weapons are, you know, what suits you best."
She brings out some bayards. I pick out the white one with two hands, and it turns into two daggers. Nice good for throwing and stabbing. Perfect size. Pidge has a bayard, Lance a gun, Keith a sword, hunk a blaster and shiro.. his mechanical hand glowing. Lance walks up to me and Pidge with his big gun.
"Aw you two got cute l'il weapons."
Pidge and I both electrocute him at the same time.
"Yes, very cute." Says Pidge.
"Indeed." I laugh.
"Alright, you are all guardian spirits of something. Shiro, you're guardian spirit of the sky, Pidge, forest, Keith, fire, Lance, water, hunk, land and finally Avery, guardian spirit of the stars."
Honestly, I feel like Harry Potter right now for some reason. Guardian spirit of the stars, how cool is that?
~~ Few movements (weeks) later~~
By now I'm already used to the green glop we have for food. I just simply chow it down. Anyway, our team is just terrible at teamwork. Lance and Keith always bickering, me pranking
everyone all the time like when I replaced lances face mask solution with food goo, he hates me now.
Before dinner Coran says he has a new system for teamwork. I wonder what it is.
•dinner•
When we started eating, these things just connected out wrists together.
"Um, Coran is this the new system?" Asks shiro, lofting his arm while also raising me slightly. I'm in between shiro and Keith. Then I shot a spoom of food goo at Coran, then it's become a war zone. It's paladins vs Alteans. Keith was shot on the face, while I was laughing at him, a handful also hit mine. Then I shot back at the general direction of where the goo came from. I see Allura collecting some in her hands and preparing to shoot at me, Keith, and Shiro.
"Duck!" I yell. Fortunately, me and Shiro ducked at the same time but Keith wasn't very lucky and got the entire splat. I laugh once he comes down and use my sleeve to wipe his face.
"Jeez, I told you to duck!" I giggle.
"I was only  a few ticks slower!" He says, batting away my hand while wiping my face with his sleeve.
     Once everyone ran out of food goo, Coran piped up.
"That's what we call teamwork!"
Then, the cuffs disappeared, and I went to my room for a shower. I think I only fell asleep for like, 15 doboshes, when the alarm sounds with Coran yelling.
"Come down quick! The princess is dead! Her head fell off! What is that, Alluras head? Oh what are her last words?!" When all the paladins arrived, Allura was fine.
"Nice acting skills, Coran." I say.
"Thank you very much."
Then that's when we all start raging.
"YOU WAKE US UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FLIPPING NIGHT JUST TO TEST OUR QUICKNESS? LIKE SERIOUSLY WHY IF YOU DO IT AGAIN Ill KILL YOU" i yell, while the other paladins are also yelling different things at the same time.
"Okay! Okay! Calm down paladins." Coran says.
"There's a galra ship heading our way"
"What?" The paladins say in unision.
"There's-" before Coran could finish, all of the paladins go clambering into their suits and lions. I haven't even realized I wore the boots on the wrong feet until I tripped on the way in my lion. I activate white and she comes to life.
"There's a galra spaceship coming." I say.
"No there isn't." Says White.
"He's just testing you. Again."
Coran, Coran he is so dead.
All the lions of the paladins must have told the paladins what really was happening, because all were heading towards a laughing Coran.
"Coran, you are so dead." We say.

A/n
Hello! I'm sorry for less amount of words then last chapter and I'm really sorry. Don't worry though, next chapter will have actual drama happening, (and of course, what y'all came here for) and actual Keith and Avery moments! Just saying, they won't be kissing or dating until they know each other. Sorry for the long ass note.
