~In Florida, 29 hours later~Y/n's POV
My eyes were closed, shaded from the sun with sunglasses. Tucked in my ears were earbuds which were loudly playing music. I smiled as my favorite song, Supermarket Flowers by Edd Sheeran began to play and quietly hummed along to it. A few minutes after, the song ended. I lift the sunglasses from my eyes and look to my left to see Felix steadily watching the road. Pulling out my earbuds, I yawn and ask him, "Are we there yet?"
He shook his head and sighed. Though I was actually wanting to know, I giggled slightly as I'd asked him multiple times already.
"You just asked me seven minutes ago, and no, we're not there yet. We shouldn't be long, though. I'd say around thirty minutes until we get to our new house," He replied.
I laughed again once more. "Well, how long have we been driving?"
"All together? I'd say around twenty-nine hours. Since we left the hotel, six."
"Well, wake me up when we're there," I huffed.
My legs were sore from inactivity already, but today's trip was far better than yesterday. We had both sat in the moving truck for twenty hours straight.
It reminded me of when I was younger in high school. My dad needed to move for a job up in Colorado, and mom didn't want him to go without us, so we all moved with him. As bad as the trip sucked, what really hurt was leaving all of my friends behind. Leaving without saying goodbye. I still miss all the memories I had, but I ended up making new fun ones. Everyone was so accepting, especially Felix.
Felix smiled. He said with a slight chuckle, "Okay."
~Timeskip~
Thirty minutes passed. Felix woke me up, and we unpacked together, and after went to the nearest coffee shop.
Felix and I walk together holding hands to the nearest Starbucks. We walk in to order our drinks, then sit down on opposite sides of the table.
"I'm glad we've got everything done," I start. "Now we just have to send out invitations and plan a few more things for the wedding."Felix smiled at me.
"I don't know what I did to get so lucky to have a girl like you in my life."
His words made me blush. Felix really was special. I smile back at him.
As the waitress walks over and gives us our drinks, I can faintly see in the distance behind her, a man with blonde hair staring at me. I look back at Felix, every once in a while glancing back at the man who was staring at me. He quickly looked away every time I went to glance at him.
It confused me because there was a girl at his table with him. I mean, maybe she was a friend but even so, he should focus on her, not me, right? Wouldn't his friend be upset that he's not focusing on her?
Felix looked at me."You okay, babe?" he asked me. "You keep looking over there."
"Hm? Oh, yeah I'm okay," I mumble quickly. Although I wasn't okay. I was really uncomfortable that someone was staring at me. Just come over and talk to me if you want to! Felix was always defensive over me. If I told him some random guy was looking at me, he'd flip.
"Hey, Felix?" I looked at him. "Do you want to go home and plan some more? Like I said earlier, we still have a few things to take care of before the wedding."
Felix nodded. "Yeah, yeah that's fine."
I let out a sigh of relief. We took our mugs to the register and ordered them to go.
As I grabbed my cup, I hurried to walk out when I crashed into something. No...not something, someone. My hot coffee spilled all over my chest."Ah!" I exclaimed. I fell backward.
"Hey man, watch where you're going," Felix told him in an irritated voice.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry," the man said apologetically.
"No, it was my fault..." my voice trailed off when I looked up to see it was the man who was staring at me.
He bent down, offering his hand to help me up. I grabbed it, and he pulled me to my feet.
Now that I'd gotten a closer look at him, he didn't seem like someone to stare at another.
"Uh, I'm Albert," he introduces himself.
"Y/n," I responded awkwardly.
"Sorry again for the mess, but I just have to say, you remind me of one of my high school friends," he told me.
Huh, so that's why he was staring. Wait... High school friend?
"Hold on, is it Albert Aretz?"
"Yeah, that's me," He said.
And that's when it hit me...
I'm standing in front of one of my best friends I left behind.
