Freddie laid me down on his bed to rest.

"I'm sorry I hurt you darling, I didn't do it on purpose" He placed a pillow under my leg and sat me up

"It's ok lov- Uh- Freddie" I looked away, I can't give him eye contact after that blunder

"Did you just..?" Freddie began

"Leave it will you" I almost shouted

Freddie was startled, shocked and a bit scared. He went and sat in the small sofa he has on the other side of his room.

"Freddie" I had tears in my eyes

He looked over to me and saw my crying.

"John what's wrong" he came and sat by me on his bed. He was frantically wiping my tears away and had his hands on my cheeks

"I shouldn't have shouted, I'm sorry, God I'm so sorry" I attacked him in a hug and Freddie stiffened before gradually relaxing in my grasp

"It's forgotten about now John" Freddie said, pulling away

"No no" I pulled him in

"What's up?" Freddie asked

"You make me feel safe, just one second" I hugged him more before pulling away myself

"Do I really make you feel safe?" He questioned, looking deep into my teary eyes

"Yeah" I blushed, looking away

There was a knock at the door, Freddie went to get it. He open the door and Mr Vale came in.

"Hey John, how are you?" He walked in and leaned against the wall

"Good thank you sir" I smiled, I was feeling better after that hug with Freddie

"Great. Everyone is having free time now so you can do what you want. I'm going to be in my room if you need anything" He said

"Alright, Thank you again" I called out as he walked out of our room

Freddie shut the door and walked over to me.

"You two seem close" he stated

"Yeah, he's taught me since I started secondary school. I've been through a lot in that time" I looked down, remembering the memories of being bullied and even beaten up. Those boys don't go to the school anymore, luckily. Now my life is much more better

"Fair enough" Freddie plonked himself next to me, "Do you want to talk about it?"

"I was bullied, that's all. But I've moved on now" I said simply

"Good for you" He smiled sweetly, he has the best smile

There was another knock on the door. Both me and Freddie went to get it as we weren't expecting anyone.

I opened the door to see Tim and Ray.

"Hello" I greeted them

"Hey John we are going out to chat to some girls, do you wanna come?" Tim asked

"I- Uh, thanks but I'm going to stay here. Have fun." I waved them off as they walked down the corridor

Before I shut the door Freddie blurted out, "you are gay!"

I slammed the door shut and pushed Freddie against the wall with my finger on his lips, "Shh not so loud!" I whisper-yelled.

"You didn't deny it" Freddie swatted my arm away

"Why does it matter?" I walked away, slightly frustrated

"It doesn't. I'm just asking" Freddie continued

"Fine! I'm gay! Wow! Let's go and celebrate!" I threw my arms in the air before collapsing face down on the bed and crying

"John I didn't mean to upset you" Freddie came over to me and put his hand on my back

"Just leave me alone" I sobbed

"What about a hug? You said you like my hugs" Freddie said with a bit of optimism in his voice

"I don't know anymore Freddie" I said, still hiding my face in the pillow

I heard Freddie sniffle. I cranked my neck to see him crying too. I couldn't stay mad at him. Seeing him like this made my heart lurch. I got up and hugged him. We squeezed each other tightly and sobbed in each other shoulders.

"I've been a complete arse to you Freddie, I'm sorry. Can we start a fresh?" I asked after I composed myself

"I'd like that. No secrets, no lies, just happiness and fun" Freddie set the rules

"Deal" I held my hand out and he shook it

"I'm Freddie" he joked

"I'm John Deacon" I grinned

"A pleasure to meet you" Freddie smirked

"Look, Freddie, I've never admitted my sexuality to anyone so it freaked me out" I explained

"It's all forgotten about now, don't fret" Freddie held my hand in both of his

I nodded before getting up and putting my nightwear on. Freddie did too. We were comfortable enough with each other now that we didn't have to be in separate rooms.

"Just a chilled out night in tonight" Freddie said

"Sounds good" I smiled

We sat on the bed in just our pyjama shorts and began to chat.

"Do you know what we are doing tomorrow?" I asked

"Yeah, they are taking us on a trip. My bets are on the lake so pack your swim shorts" Freddie said excitedly

"Is it nice there?" I questioned

"It is a beautiful place dear! The lake is so clear and warm and there is a rope swing so you can jump off. There is also a bit rock you can jump off too if you're brave" Freddie described the place. It really did seem quite incredible

"I'm looking forward to it" I smirked

"Have you enjoyed day 2 in India?" Freddie asked

"It's been amazing" I said

"Wonderful darling! It gets better!" Freddie cheered

We rot on top of the duvet as it was an especially hot night. Freddie started drawing circles on my bare back.

"Freddie that tickles" I giggled and squirmed

Freddie laughed loudly, "it was supposed to be cute, not tickle" he said

Is he trying to impress me? Does Freddie like me? I sure like him. I shrugged it off and fell asleep with Freddie's hand still on my back.
