A shrill laugh echoed through the room. "You called me four eyes a while ago." The Cantorian laughed again. "If you only knew, you would never have insulted me!"
"What the hell are you rambling about now?" Alex pestered as he focused on the Cantorian careful to avoid any potential cue for an attack.
"What, you don't remember? I guess I better show you then!" The Cantorian shrieked out before blinking his eyes. When he opened them next, his blood red eyes had two pupils in each eye. "How is this for four eyes!" He cried out as four beams of the fiery light began flying towards the two. Thomas ducked and rolled to the side as the angled beams shot in his direction while Alex rolled forward and began weaving in and out of the two, heading towards the Cantorian's body.
"What are you doing Alex!" Thomas cried out as he continued to avoid the beams of light that were cast on him.
"Don't worry about me, focus on you! Those beams mean death if they touch you!" Alex cried back as he weaved in and out of the deathly beams.
"I would have to agree with the suicidal man." The Cantorian said as he focused both sets of eyes on Alex. "These beams mean death, and right now they are going to kill your master!" He howled in laughter as Alex became stuck in a loop of ducking and rolling to get away from the beams.
Thomas watched in horror as the beams dashed two and fro. Alex seemed to dance around the grounds, avoiding the bodies that lay in his wake. The bodies however were not as fortunate, and soon the burning rays of light began dicing and mincing the bodies while burning their clothing. Soon the whole room began to smell of burning flesh and decomposing matter. How are we going to get out of here? Those beams seem to only work in pairs. The top ones lead the bottom, but the top can go wherever they want.
"As much as I enjoy your dancing. I think it's time we end your master." The Cantorian said with a deep maniacal laugh. Suddenly the lower two beams winked out of view. "Good luck trying to avoid what you can't see!"
"Get out of there!" Thomas screamed in panic as Alex began dodging in more erratic patterns. "The beams changed wavelength! We can't see them anymore, but they are still there! The Cantorian turned one of his eyes on Thomas, stopping only inches away from his feet.
"Now how did you figure that out?" The Cantorian asked as he continued attacking Alex with his left eye. "You're the first human to ever figure out the wavelength changed! It won't save you from death, but I still want to know how you figured it out!"
Thomas looked at the massive beam only inches away from him, and then to Alex, who was able to focus on the Cantorian with more ease. "Well, you see." Thomas started, trying to stall. Hoping Alex would be able to creep closer now that he only had one set of eyes on him. "You see, I learned you have the power of sight from the Magegod, and that means you have the ability to see in waves. Then when you went and manipulated the brainwaves of Alex and I on the way here, I figured you would be able to manipulate the waves around you." He paused for a second, seeing Alex was only a few feet from the Cantorian. "And then when I saw all the people under your control I assumed you had the power to manipulate the wavelengths of your choosing, so changing the beams to be invisible to our view was a possibility."
"Well, you are a clever one. I would have enjoyed using you as a vessel. It's a shame I have to kill you and your master here." The Cantorian replied with a smirk as his beam of light that was aimed at Thomas's feet went flying towards Alex.
"Alex look out!" Thomas screamed as the beam flew towards him. Thomas covered his eyes as panic began to take over. No, I can't lose Alex. We just got together! I can't lose him now!" Thomas's body began to shake, soon he felt a vibrating in his hands that screamed magic. He opened his eyes to see Alex spinning and jumping in a form that seemed impossible to follow.
