(a wake up call to the coldness in our societies...)
The world is so blind as a bat
With no one really better at that
Though each into the ring throws his hat
It's but a show of bloated shameful tactAt Christmas, all we journey in radiant harmonies
Homes filled with gifts and wonders of Christmas trees
Yet we move about with frozen hearts and stiff unbendable knees
As though all we received was not given for freeOftentimes, society prefers the illusion of images
Forgetting it's love that powers all the ages
Oh that we may humbly repent from being savages!
And not crumble at difficulties like Burger King's sausages!Imagine a culture where love's like rain drops on our roofs?
Where we don't hear frequently the sounds of ambulance on the move?
Where issues of poverty and malnutrition aren't treated with kids gloves?
And the maligned smile, kissing goodbye their old rusty stoves? We keep believing as Martin Luther taught
Though our hearts sink daily with every wave of thought
We will survive notwithstanding the drought of values, and rot
Cos we have chosen not to get our hearts and consciences burnt! To the poor, forgotten and those in need
Brace up, look up and sow your seed
That gift and ability which far exceeds any bid
And wait, till Nature makes you the highlight of newsfeeds.Fear has a way of crippling the most athletic
It's sticks on us voraciously like a hungry tick
But victory is sure with faith and skin so thick
Just as rocks and stones are split by plants' roots in a clique.
