A few days had passed since that night. The air was heavy in the village— especially for the mercenaries who held the lives of innocents resting in their hands. And barely could they find a time to sit back and take a break for they now constantly had the stressful burden of what could happen next.

And the main question that lingered in their minds:

What would be the consequence of their actions?

And along with the lingering concern, a small, wooden-built house in the middle of the village reeked of uncertainty. Villagers who passed by it walked along the opposite side of the street with their eyes glued to it as if it were haunted house. Technically, it could be considered such. This was the house where "the boy who lived" was brutally attacked by the icy-eyed wolf. And now, it was the house that locked away something so mysterious and dangerous. Something, no— someone, who had been absolutely silent for the past few days. So suspiciously quiet, it was questioned if anyone was even still in there alive. But that was something only the mercenaries knew.

A gloved hand ran along a shiny blade, caressing it. Soft purple eyes admired the weapon, holding back the sweet craving that bubbled within. A leakage of morning light through a slight opening in the wall reflected off of the blade, creating a blotch of white on the dark walls.

A blade was lifted up steadily by the handle, it was lightweight— perfect for Tenn Kujo, the mercenary who specialized with speed over strength. It whirled through the air, creating a short-lived vortex of it's transparency. Then it stopped held out in front of the male.

Tenn didn't say anything, he could barely hear his own breathing. His eyes narrowed, glaring at the rapier in hopes of something, anything, to happen.

But nothing did.

Discouraged, Tenn let out a breath and tossed the rapier off to the side where it clattered underneath his bed. What was he doing wrong? This had to be the Rapier of Power. It must be because. . .

Because what?

It's the only rapier here.

No, there mustn't be a coincidence. Tenn shook his head to himself as he angrily snatched his belt off from the rack where clean uniforms hung and tied it around his waist. Tsumugi might know something. After all, she went after the rapier under the control of the Flute. And she was the one who had read all of the books that everyone else had mistakenly thought was fiction. But now, she was currently undergoing rest with Gaku in Headmaster Anesagi's manor after their arrival from the horrid adventure in the woods she dared not to speak of. And Gaku. . . he hadn't been able to speak at all.

Tenn pressed a gloved finger to his bottom lip, thinking. The one who truly knew how to connect to the spirit of a gifted item was Ryuu, the holder of the Map of Foresight. Sure, Ryuu was more wit than offense but what exactly made him special compared to him, the face of the trio, and Gaku, the leader? Nothing. Ryuu had even managed to let Momo escape containment which ultimately led to his death. Furthermore, he didn't even remember it happening because he was knocked unconscious in a split second. How witty.

Thinking of Ryuu's incapability pinched at Tenn's annoyance. The map right now was with Ryuu which was quite inconvenient since Ryuu's whereabouts were unknown to Tenn at the moment since they were all busy with their own problems. Which meant Tenn would have to go looking for his fellow mercenary. Ryuu was likely to be found at the bookstore, what they now called "the safe haven," or visiting Gaku and Tsumugi.

Tenn stepped out of his shared house and locked the door behind him. He then headed for Mitsuki's house in the middle of the village. For now, he had more urgent matters to take care of. And whilst doing so for the past few days, he had also covered up Nagi's death and disposed all evidence of his presence. Luckily enough for Tenn, he managed to rid of the wholeass carriage and it's contents with the limited time he had that night Tsumugi had killed him. And speaking of which, he still hadn't mentioned Nagi to anyone. They all must've assumed the upperclass man left safely out of the blue. On the brighter side, Tenn got his hands on quite the few valuables and bags of money from taxes. Now what to do with those, he would have to handle with later.
