runaway // gabriel x reader

the rest of the week went by quick; and i had been meeting up every few days with gabriel to chat; and it felt like we were bestfriends for a long time before we met. it was fun, having someone to talk to. other than gabriel, i had talked to the red headed boy, who i later found out his name was alex; in the lines every so often.

with the girls sharing cabin rooms, i was paired with the pretty girl alex chatted up; whos name is zhenzhen; and a few others.
we shared a bunk and as much as i tried to converse she just gave simple nods and smiles. maybe she cant speak english? i saw the chinese flag on her bag.. so.. maybe?

that day, we were up for zip lining; but as much as it seemed fun; it wasnt really my thing. and also; this guy behind kept asking me for my number- i tried to ignore him, but he grew on my nerves; so i ran up the same hill i met gabriel- trying to shake him off. but, he followed me.

"damn, baby girl- im just tryin to have some fun here!" he said; as he followed behind me
i grumbled and stood on the hill.
"first of all- i am not some rag tag slut that will give out her number for free because a guy wants it-" i stopped suddenly as alex and zhenzhen ran up ahead from the brown bridge. before i could wave at him, the guy trying to get my number ran off to him.

"hey alex! my man! let me help you conquer your fear!" i was confused, but as soon as he pulled alex away and to the edge of the hill i knew. zhenzhen stood beside me watching in awe. "hey, man! thats not cool! just let the guy go, he's afraid of heights!" i tried to convince him but he wouldnt budge.  i could hear alex pleading to him, and found out his name was dariush. i was at loss. i was about to get zhenzhen to help, before someone yelled from behind me.

"leave him alone!" i knew that voice. it was gabriel! i sighed a sigh of relief, but maybe it was too quick. dariush dodnt budge, again. "im not gonna tell you again." gabriel said, in agitation. dariush released alex and went up to gabriel and did some weird pose and yelled, "five years of Krav Maga, bitch!" before, attempting to punch gabriel, right before gabriel threw a satisfying sucker punch at him. he landed on the ground groaning.

i flashed him a smile of relief, surprise and happiness to see him. as close as we were, i ran up to him and gave a high five. darish got up quickly and yelled in surprise. "hotstuff? you know this bitch?" i was annoyed and ignored him. that was right before the booms.
it seemed as if 100s of fireworks boomed in the sky. but they werent fireworks.
