In the Clouds

The chilly winter breeze, a strong force that attempted to push away anything at its disposal. Her auburn hair rigorously pushed behind her, cupping her face with a frigid sensation.

The bell sounding her presence once she entered the warm establishment. She lined up behind a crowd of taller figures. She quickly placed her order and took a seat near the window. As she patiently waited, she admired the formation of snowflakes that glued themselves to the glass. The aroma of meaty broth and bamboo shoots making her hungrier by the second. The bowl was steaming, the assembly of the onsen egg, heaping of bamboo shoots and green onion and the carefully layered pork slices made the dish look even more delectable. Her chopsticks digging through the creamy broth. Pulling up the noodles that piled around the chopsticks and cradled by its roundness. Every anxiety and worry she had within the day disappeared with her consumption of the Japanese delicacy.

It didn't matter what happened and what she had to do, she took her time carefully finishing every last drop of the broth. Reminding herself food makes everything better and no matter what life goes on.
