Malias pov--
I woke up in my bunk. Everything was different, I swatted my alarm off and looked at the empty bed across from mine. Becca had left to go back to Whales for spring break time, intact most people had left the academy to visit family or to go back home for the week. I changed into a pair of nike leggings and a Portugal training top I stole from cristiano.
The hallways were abandoned aside from a figure slumped on the wall, he appeared to be sleeping but then I walked closer I noticed a faint whimpering noise.
I approached the figure slowly, looking at the slightly dishevelled dark brown hair and the slightly tanned skin.
The figures face tilted up revealing to me that it was James.
he tried to sit up and wipe his tears and pretend that he wasn't crying but he obviously had been.
"I don't care if you cry, James, everyone does" he seemed embarrassed at first but then his face changed into releif. even with swollen eyes and a puffy face, he was still attractive.
"What's wrong?" I decided I had the time, and he was sort of my friend so I guess I had to ask.
"Everything is changing lia, becca and Maria are gone, Dane and Sam left, everything is going wrong, my ma just told me that her and my Papi are getting a divorce, I know it's stupid to cry abo--" I didn't even let him finish before I pulled him into a hug and began weeping aswell.
"I know, I hate it, I'm really sorry about your family" I sighed and sniffed dramatically wiping a stray tear off my cheek.
"Lia our gang is broken, you're barely even at the academy any more and everyone is leaving. I hate it."
What James said was completely truthful. I hated it too, I had been 2 weeks since Dane and Sam had left and everything was wrong, Becca didn't talk half as much as she used too and I would here her cry herself to sleep every night practically, Maria never slept, and constantly worked on football and studies trying to keep busy, I had been busy with football aswell and I was trying to cramp in my studies aswell, I had time since cristiano was out in Portugal for an international break. I Havnt seen him in a week and a half and it was taking its toll aswell.
"James, we have to keep going. things will never be back to normal but we have to move on" I sat up and whiped my tears and have him one last smile before I continued through the hallway but I paused when I heard him mutter;
"Thanks lia" I turned around giving him a weak smile.
"No problem james"
I got to the pitch and found a ball lying in the middle so I decided to take a rabona shot. memories of Sam teaching me how to do it flooded in my head.
Everything was weird and I didn't like it.
I made my way to were the ball had landed when I felt my phone buzz.
I pulled it out to see an unknown number calling.
I hesitated slightly but then picked up.
"Hello?"
"Hi lia uhm this is awkward but my name is Nani and well cristianos phone got smashed when pep--" I heard a shout in the background.
"I didn't smash his phone lia" I chuckled a bit
"... Anyways, pepe dropped Ronnie's IPhone on the change room floor and he's out getting a new one and well he asked me to call you and tell you that you have a flight booked to Portugal for the international match today."
I heard yelling in the background which I assumed was pepe.
"Ok, thanks nani, what time is my flight at?"
