The Hybrids Girl

Aubrey's POV.

"Hurry up Aubrey we're going to be late for our flight!" Yelled my dad from downstairs.

"I'll be down in a minute! Hold on Dad, you think I just wake up looking so amazing?? NO!!" I yelled back.

I don't really want to leave, but my Dad has this obsession with finding and killing vampires. I was brought up being told stories about Vampires. When I was 16 my Dad told me the truth about them! They are real, and one killed my Mother when I was 9 I was now 17 now. She had gone camping with a group of work friends and my Dad found her body when he went to get her and bring her home. I had been told that she had been attacked by an animal, but for some reason i never believed it. Ever.

Arrived In Mystic Falls.

We got off the plane and called a cab to take us to our new house..well 1 bedroom apartment, that's all we could afford for now. It was small but cute and cosy. I had the bedroom while Dad slept on the couch.

Once everything was unpacked we went for dinner at a place called Mystic Grill. When we walked in there was a sign on the counter that said 'help wanted' Dad suggested I get a job there, he said that It would help me "make friends". I told him I would ask about the job before we left, although I didn't mean it.

We took our seats and a tall blonde/light brown haired guy with baby blue eyes who's name tag read Matt, came over to take our order. I wasn't hungry so I just got a drink of coffee.

"Are you new in town" asked Matt from behind the bar as I walked towards him to pay the bill.

"Yes I am. Is it really that obvious?"

He laughed. "Are you still in school?"

"Yeah I'm going to attend Mystic Falls High School. First day tomorrow" I said biting my bottom lip nervously.

"Really? That's where me and my friends attend, i'd be happy to show you round if you'd like?"

"Sure sounds good" I smiled

"Okay well here is my number" he handed me a napkin with a number and his name on it. "Text me your address tomorrow morning and I'll walk you to school and show you around" he smiled

"Okay, thanks so much!" I said smiling.

Morning.

I woke up, had a much needed shower, found a nice outfit for the day and texted Matt.

At 8:00AM I heard a knock at the door. I ran downstairs but Dad had already answered it. Matt held out his hand to my dad, smiled and said "hi I'm Matt Donavon."

Dad shook his hand and invited him in after finding out why he was at our house. So over protective.

I came downstairs with my school bag

"You ready for your first day?" Matt asked smiling.

"Nervous would be a better word" I said biting my lip.

"You will be fine." He held out his arm and I linked mine in his.

"Here we go" I said looking up at him.
