I wake up with Zazu sat on my face, again.
"Seriously Zaz, why the face? Couldn't you just lie next to me?" He looks at me with an unamused expression and just saunters sassily off the bed and out through my bedroom door. "Ugh." I lie back down and release an exasperated sigh.
"EMMA WAKE UP WAKE UP!" I hear shouted in my ear at full volume. It turns out that text message a few weeks ago was from my two older brothers, who randomly decided to turn up at my house and spend almost three weeks with me. During that time they have bombarded my house, broken one of my ornaments and tormented my pets; however they have helped me re-paint the entire house whilst I've been busy at work. Speaking of work, filming is actually nearly finished, we only have a few more small scenes and then it's all post-production and editing, which I'm obviously not qualified to do.
"Okay, Jake I'm up." I groan towards my somewhat energetic brother, I have no idea why he's so excited, he's never this happy in a morning.
"Come on we want to do something fun!" He speaks with conviction. Something fun? We've not stopped doing fun things for the last three weeks!
"How on earth are you twenty-four?" I murmur, getting up from my cosy position in bed and heading towards the bathroom to brush my teeth. In all honesty it's been lovely to see them both, Ben is a lot calmer and laid back than Jake although considering he's married now with a child, it's safe to say he's settled down; Jake however is not as calm, he's a bit more enthusiastic. I think it's just because he's having a change of scenery, it's not often that either of them get a break and leave Holmes Chapel.
"Do we have to have the 'birds and the bees' conversation again?" He teases and I cringe.
"No thank you, it was bad enough explaining it to you the first time." He grunts, not particularly happy with the fact that I've flipped the conversation on him.
"Ha ha very funny." He laughs sarcastically and rolls his bright blue eyes, leaning on the bathrooms doorframe. "So what are we doing today?" His expression is hopeful, "can we go ice skating?" Ugh.
"Jake you know I can't ice skate, and Ben won't want to go. Why don't we do something else?" I reason with him, taking my other brother into consideration. Ben isn't exactly the type to ice skate.
Jake slumps like a child in a temper, "what can we do then?" He whines.
I spit out the excess toothpaste and turn to him, using the sleeve of my pj top to wipe the toothpaste surrounding my mouth - this top will be going in the wash anyway. "There are plenty of things we could do, but right now I have to get ready for work."
"I didn't know you were in work today." Jakes expression contorts as he tries to recall if I've mentioned it before.
I gently push his chest so he walks backwards towards my bedroom door. "Yeah, filming has almost finished. We've only got a couple of scenes to go so I shouldn't be there too long." The door closes softly as I assure him, beginning to get dressed.
"Well I'll go with you then!" He shouts through my beautifully varnished bedroom door.
"What about Ben, Jake?" Why does he always forget?
"He'll be fine, I think he was going to go to Oxford Street anyway. We'll go without him." My hazel eyes roll at my brothers logic, although I suppose he's right; Ben likes to do his own thing every now and then and I know that he wanted to get a couple of presents for Anna and the baby.
"Ask him first and if he doesn't want to go then that's fine." I hear a reluctant grunt from him as I shimmy on my favourite dark wash skinny jeans and slip into my black ankle boots.
