┏━━━━━━ Kayla's pov ━━━━━━┓
We stood there just staring at the hand of Merle Dixon, brother of Daryl Dixon, who looked angered at the hand. Correction. The other stared at Merle's hand, but my eyes remained on Daryl seeing he was wiping the remainder of his tears. I was wondering what his next move would be. He clearly had anger within the men here and I watched for any sign of retaliation. It came quick and he shouted in ager picking up his crossbow and aiming it at T-dog. Just as quickly as he done it, I leaped in front of T-dog staring at the arrow that would pierce my head if he done so.
" I won't hesitate. I don't care if every walker in the city hears it." Dad sneered and diverting my eyes from the arrow, I saw Dad had aimed his gun to the back of Daryl's head.
Blue stared at hazel eyes. We just stared at one another and I knew he wasn't going to pull the trigger. Daryl was an asshole, but he would never hurt me. I knew this deep down and I was corrected when he pulled the crossbow away.
" You got a do-rag or something?" He asked and T-dog handed him a bandana," I guess the saw blade was too dull for the handcuffs. Ain't that a bitch."
" Ew," I whispered, watching Daryl pick the hand up and placing it in Glenn's bag. Glenn looked both disappointed and disgusted to have it." Ha. ha. You have the hand."
" Kayla." Glenn groaned begging with his eyes, but I wasn't taking the bag now.
" He must have used a tourniquet or maybe his belt. Be much more blood if he didn't." Daryl said taking off after the trail." Come on. We'll follow the trail and find him."
I groaned not in the mood to track down some drug dealer, but I also didn't want to leave Daryl out here alone. No one should be out here alone. I followed after Glenn feeling Dad nudge my side and looked up seeing he was a mixture of angry and worry.
" What was that back there ?"
Stupidly, I turned around to look at where we were standing shrugging," Merle's an idiot and-"
" No." He sternly said." You jumping in front of weapons."
Again, I shrugged," I knew when Daryl saw me at the other end of the crossbow, he wouldn't pull the trigger."
" And if he did ?"
" He wouldn't of." I said turning my attention back to the group ahead of us.
Daryl led most of the way trying each floor at a time. Merle's blood made a pretty interesting trail and I could only hope we found him dead or alive so this day could be over with.
" Merle you in here? Merle !" Daryl yelled, making it echo all over the mall.
I winced at the sound knowing it was the dumbest thing to do when in the big city. We walk till an ugly walker appeared, growling its mouth at us for some flesh. I stabbed it before watching its body collide in the ground with two other walkers that Merle seemed to kill.
I nodded my head," Damn."
" Had enough in him to take out these two sum bitches one-handed. Toughest asshole I ever met, my brother. Feed him a hammer he'd crap out nails."
" Any man can pass out from blood loss." Dad said, and I nodded following the group.
" No matter how tough he is." I added.
We continued to follow Merle's trail of blood until we came to a small kitchen. My eyes went to the stove seeing all six were burning with fire, but what really caught my attention was an iron covered in something that smelled terrible.
