Sebastian leads me down the long hallway in which we first walked down to get to the room. Instead of taking a right turn to lead us back to the main foyer, he takes a left, leading down yet another massive hallway.

Once again, I take in the beautiful decorations on the wall and the intricately way the Manor itself is designed.

While I'm too busy looking at the ornaments on the wall, it takes me a longer time to realize that the silence between us is stifling, and I clear my throat in preparation to casually speak. "How do you not get lost in such a massive place such as this Mister Michaelis?"

He chuckles to my words and tilts his head slightly back to give a quick backward glance at me, addressing me with his next words. "Because I'm simply, one hell of a butler you see."

I feel my (e/c) lips curl into a smile. "One hell of a butler, you say? I'll have to see just how you do it then, I can still learn a thing or two in this department."

Sebastian stops then in front of a beautiful (e/c) Victorian door, an intricate style of vine-line designs crawling up the sides of the windowless door. He turns to me and half smiles. "Well then, I would be happy to help you. Only when you, and if you, actually know how to properly do your job."

I swallow hard and nod, sweat starting to bead on my forehead from the stare of Sebastian’s ruby red eyes. He doesn't answer me as he turns back and opens the door, which easily opens and allows the two of us to enter before softly clicking shut behind us, closing us in the room we currently stand in.

I do my usual look around to take in my position in this unfamiliar house. It appears we have entered what looks to be the kitchen, four white walls surrounding us, an island with various cooking utensils neatly atop it, a counter with a sink and cabinets behind that, covering the far back wall. Sebastian walks over to the island, stepping behind it so that he is facing me.

"There is no need for me to teach you really anything just yet, for my Young Master still hasn't officially hired you as his own, but I have prepared numerous things, just in care of course." He looks up at me, calculating my response.

I just nod and straighten my dress, but smirk at the head butler. "Oh I don't have any doubt in the Young Master to hire me. If I did, I would still be working for Lord Trancy, and I would've fought my way to stay there with Alois' head butler. I know how to handle tough-looking butlers Sebastian Michaelis, so I think you shouldn't doubt me either."

At first Sebastian is taken aback by my words, but he quickly covers up his surprise with a chuckle and a hand to his mouth. "Oh really? And just who have you been working under? For I do not control, I merely direct the other servants."

I'm about to say something when I decide to take the conversation away from my old job. "There are other servants here? Why haven't I met them?"

Sebastian chuckles again as he takes hold of a long silver tray with a cup on a saucer on it. He then goes to pick up another saucer with a small dessert which looks to be almost like a small cake, but not one I can identify. "They are doing their duties, so there is no time for dilly dallying. You will meet them when the Young Master commands it so. Now would you ever be so kind and get the traveling tray?" He nods his head to the right of me.

I turn and see what he was talking about. The tray is about 3 feet high with two trays, one on top and one on the bottom, to move food and drinks from one room to another in an orderly fashion. The tray itself is beautifully crafted as well, with four wheels at each corner, (e/c) non-rusted metal, and a handle to push the cart itself.

I walk over to it and gently glide it across the kitchen until it comes to a stop in front of a waiting Sebastian, a tray on his right palm, as he bends forward and gently places it on the top tray, his hair hanging in front of his face, his eyes concentrated on the swift graceful movement.

He takes out his pocket watch, and snaps it shut, nodding. Sebastian looks up at me, our eyes level, as his red ones look into my (e/c) ones. "We should be going now. It is almost time. The Young Master doesn't like to be kept waiting."

I nod but don't break the eyes contact with him, my eyes narrowing, challenging him. I think he's about to do something when he just stands up, straightening his back and smirks. "Shall we? I think being timely will be a great help to your cause."

I nod and push the cart through the sliding kitchen door as Sebastian holds it open for me, closing it behind him as he takes the lead once again.

"Now the route to the Young Master's study isn't a difficult one from the kitchen, all you have to do is walk down this long hallway and," He gestures to the door on our left, the end of the hallway in front of us. "It's on your left. See? Quite simple, even for a human."

Sebastian's left hand reaches out to grab the door, but I grasp his wrist, earning yet another surprised look from him. I look at him sternly, feeling a blush creep up my neck at my thoughts and how bold my words are going to be.

"You keep saying all this stuff about humans, but it seems like you're implying you don't belong in that category. Just what do you mean when you talk like that?"

He simply chuckles as he removes his wrist from my hand. "Now that, Milady (f/n) is for another time. Right now, we must present ourselves, so please," He pauses as he moves his hands swiftly to fix the corset strings on my uniform, tying them uniformly and tucking them into the back of the dress, out of sight. "Make yourself presentable." Sebastian finishes his sentence as he puts a gloved hand to his lips in a silencing motion and opens the door to the study inside.
