Tale of Two Spiders (Spider-Gwen x reader)

You couldn't believe what Gwen just told you. The look of shock was unmistakable on your face. Sure you always had that theory, but never in a hundred thousand years had you thought that someone from a completely different universe could enter the Earth you lived on.

"D-did I hear that right?"

"Yes you did. I know. It's weird, but true."

"Then what Earth is this?"

Gwen sighs. "That's where I'm lost. See, I was supposed to travel to Earth-616, but my dimensional travel watch..." She pulls out a broken piece of equipment. "It started to get all glitched out and it brought me here, breaking when I arrived. I was walking around for a bit, trying to find out where I was, and then I saw the news about Spider-Man fighting the Shocker. Figured that's where I'd go, and here we are."

You rub your forehead, thinking and taking this news all in. "So, you're from another dimension and you're stuck here because of some watch thing?"

"Correct."

"So we're just one of many, many Spider-people?"

"Also correct."

"So... what Earth are you from?"

"I'm from Earth-65. I'm sure it's quite different than the one you have."

"Well, let's compare. Obviously I'm not Spider-Man there."

"Nope."

"How's Pe-" before you can finish your sentence, your watch alarm goes off. Your mom would be home any minute now. "Crap! Okay. I gotta head home. Nice meeting you! We should hang out again sometime." You give a quick wave and shoot a web to swing home.

"Hey! Wait up!" Gwen swings right behind you, giving chase.

"What? Sorry, but I gotta head home before my mom finds out I'm missing or sees me in costume."

"You don't get it, do you? I have no where to go. I'm stuck here in your dimension. You're the only one who knows I'm here and knows about me. The real me. Not Spider me."

"Oh." You're silent for a bit, just swinging and thinking. This was quite the pickle sandwich. She could always go to that homeless place Peter's Aunt May runs, but then you remember they're kind of full there after the attack by Electro at ESU. Plus you needed to solve this problem, which means you'd need to talk with Gwen and come up with a plan. "I'll think of something."

Soon you arrive at the apartment building. You stop right by your room's window and open it. "I'll try to get outside again as soon as possible."

Gwen nods her head as you crawl inside. You take off your mask, put on a jacket and jeans to cover up your suit, and turn on the computer to act casual. You hear the window close behind you and quickly turn. Gwen is inside.

"Wh-why are you in here?!?" You yell in a hushed whisper.

"It started to rain. You know how a wet suit feels."

"What do you-" Thunder booms in the distance as it suddenly begins to rain. Gotta love New York and their weather. "Point made."

You hear the front door start to unlock. You whisper a curse. Your mom will enter the house any second. Think (Y/n). Think.

"(Y/n)! You there?" You hear your mom close the door behind her.

"Yeah! I'll be out in a second!" You lower your voice into a whisper. "What are we gonna do?" You're desperate for ideas and time is fleeing.

"You go out there and distract her. I'll meet you in the hall."

"How are you gonna do that?" Gwen points at the air vent. "Oh. Yeah that'll work." You nod your head agreeing to the idea. You thwip your ESU hoodie and a pair of jeans, giving them to Gwen. "Here. Put these on over your suit. It'll help conceal your identity. The news is probably speculating who that other Spider is, so best not cause any attention.
