Invisible | Tsukishima Kei x Reader

"SURPRISE!"

Confetti falls as you stand in your doorway with a dropped jaw. A banner reading "Happy Birthday" trails across the ceiling. A large group of people stand in your living room looking at you.

"It's... my birthday?" You mutter. "Huh?"

"You forgot, huh?" Your sister comes forward with a party hat.

"But Kiyoko," you whisper in her ear "I'm still wearing my school uniform and I'm sweaty"

"You can go take a shower and meet us back down here" she whispers back with a laugh.

"Uh... Thanks everyone for the surprise? I'll be right back though!" You rush upstairs.

You close the bathroom door, trying to process what just happened. All of your closest friends in your home celebrating YOUR birth. You can't help but feel giddy, burying your face in your hands with a smile.

After spending 15 minutes picking out clothes and actually putting on makeup, you finally feel presentable and walk down the stairs.

"(Name)!!!" Yachi wraps her arms around you. "You look great!"

"Yachi! Did you know about this?" You return the hug.

"Of course I did! I'm sorry for having to ignore you because of it" she frowns.

"No! Don't apologize I love this! Thanks for planning it!" You gleam.

"Oh, I didn't plan it" she waves her hand in defense. "Tsukishima did."

"He— He did?" You look around for the tall blonde. "Where is he?"

"I dunno" she shrugs with a small smile.

"Hey— Yamaguchi!" You stop the freckled first year.

"Happy Birthday!" He smiles. "What is it?"

"Wheres the beanstalk?..."

"Uh..." the boy glances at Yachi.

She grabs his arm, "we'll get you a drink!" the blondie pulls Yamaguchi into the crowd as you tilt your head in confusion. "Weird..."

"(Name)!" you turn around and see Kenma and Kuroo with a gift poorly wrapped. Kenma hand the gift to you with a small smile, "Sorry about the wrapping... I'm not the best with it"

"Thank you Kenma, it's beautiful wrapping" you two share a quick hug. "Have you seen Tsukishima around?"

"Yeah hes--" Kuroo gets elbowed in the stomach by Kenma.

"We dont know" He says calmly with a quick glare at the Nekoma captain. "Let's get snacks Kuroo"

The childhood friends walk away into the kitchen as you stand at the bottom of the staircase in confusion. You shrug it off as you walk around and greet the other guests.

After a while, you decide to make your way upstairs to rest for a while in your room. Opening the door, you see Tsukishima sitting down on your bed holding your small red dinosaur plush in his hand. He's wearing a white tee with a navy jacket and jeans-- the most formal he can get.
