They finally open when you hear something....music. You look around at your surroundings. Peter is laying not too far away from you. He's groaning from the pain of the landing as he rolls on his side. Gamora is about ten feet away from you. She's on her knees trying to get up. Your eyes roam to your left, where Drax is laying, his arm raising up. Despite the pain in your legs, you crawl over to your friend and lay hands on him. The warmth shoots through your hands quickly, waking him up. Peter's cassette player is on the ground next to your friend.
Then you hurry over to Gamora and lay a hand on her, the same warmth shooting out from your hands quickly. Your feet carry you to Peter.
"Hey, Babe. You okay?" He asks as he sits up.
Your eyes scan his face. There's dirt and cuts on him. One of them is bleeding pretty badly. You put your hand on his shoulder and watch as the wounds heal. "Yeah, Star-Prince. I'm okay." You smile lightly.
That's when your eyes spot Rocket on his knees in front of a pile of tree limbs and branches. Your pain quickly subsides as you stand up and walk over to him. He's holding a twig in his hands. You stand over him, not really sure what to say.
"I called him an idiot." He holds the twig close to himself.
"He knows you didn't mean it, Rocket." You kneel next to him as Xandarians come out from the rubble left in their home.
Ooh child. Things are gonna get brighter. The song plays throughout the city.
"I still shouldn't have called him that." He stares down at the ground.
Looking up, you notice Gamora looking past you. You turn your head to see a bright purple light outlining a silhouette in the smoke. Ronan...
"You killed Groot!" Rocket shouts running towards him.
A purple force ball shoves Rocket backwards as you eyeball the crazy Kree. "Behold! Your guardians of the galaxy." He walks in front of you, and grabs you by the throat, lifting you up.
"(Y/n)!" Peter shouts as you dangle, your throat being crushed slowly.
"What fruit have they wrought?" Ronan continues as you claw at his hands. "Only that my father and his father shall finally know vengeance."
Your pry a few of his fingers off of your throat. He looks at you with worry. Ronan throws you in the air. Your body hits the ground as you land next to Peter, the air being knocked out from you.
"People of Xandar, the time has come to rejoice and renounce your paltry gods!" Ronan still hasn't shut up.
Peter looks over at you as if he's asking what he should do, but you don't say anything. You're still regaining your breath and waiting for the pain to exit your body.
"Your salvation is at hand." He raises his hammer and closes his eyes. Ronan begins speaking in his native language.
Peter stands up as you finally breathe flawlessly again. "Ooh child things are gonna get easier." He starts dancing a little bit as you stand up. "Ooh child things will get brighter." He shakes a finger at Ronan as he brings his hammer close to himself.
"Listen to these words." He moves his foot to the beat. "Ooh child things are gonna get easier. Ooh child things are gonna get brighter."
What in the hell is he doing? That's when you notice Rocket working on something in the rubble. A distraction? Perfect.
"Now bring it down hard!" He dances. "Some day..." He continues as your eyes land on Ronan's bright purple ones.
"What are you doing?" Ronan questions.
