50 FIRST DATES.
VOLUME ONE: READY, SET, GO.
CHAPTER FOUR: DATE #2.━━ ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ━━
THE CAR PULLED TO A HALT IN FRONT OF DAVID'S HOUSE, everyone shuffling out onto the pavement. Cordelia got up from her seat between Corinna and Jeff, ducking on her way out and hopping onto the ground, a joyous grin on her lips.
Zane's arm laid across the length of her shoulder, urging her to turn to him, "so what's first on the to-do list, baby?"
She couldn't help but let the mirth pool in her eyes as she parted her lips to answer him, however, her chance was lost when two hands brushed against her sides in a ticklish-manner, causing her to squeal and jump away, facing the culprit.
Jeff stood, stepping out of the Tesla and onto the pavement where she had previously been standing, "That would be me."
"I just got my best friend back and you're already taking her away!" Corinna complained, pouting as she wrapped her arms around Cordelia.
"And you'll have me for the rest of forever, C," Cordelia laughed. "I promise."
"But for right now, I've got dibs," Jeff pushed in, shrugging innocently at Corinna and entwining his hand with Cordelia, gently tugging her towards him.
A wave of heat piled through her veins at the contact. Though his intentions of bringing him closer to him was long successful, she still kept her hand intwined with his, savouring the moment. For, the mere action sent ripples of butterflies racing through the depths of her stomach. It was a feeling she had grown accustomed to since her feelings for Jeff had begun to rise, and one she hoped would never leave.
"Sorry, C," Cordelia shrugged, mimicking Jeff's, "but I think we both really deserve this second first date," she elaborated as he begun to slightly swing his hands back and fourth.
Before anyone else could speak, Natalie approached the group, ushering David towards them and pointing to Jeff and Cordelia's entwined hands. "See! This is content, David!" she joked, both of their cheeks staining with rosé.
"Yeah bro— Jeff showing emotion? Get the fucking camera out!" Zane added, jokingly, causing laughter to erupt between them once more.
Cordelia was firm in her belief that she had laughed more since she'd landed in Los Angeles than she had for the rest of her life. Her cheeks ached from smiling━━ not that she cared━━ she relished in the feeling, eating it up.
"Well, we're gonna get going— have fun unloadin' her three hundred fucking suitcases!" Jeff informed, readjusting his grip on her hand as he waved goodbye to the group with his other.
"Drop her off at my place and I expect to see her back before ten, buddy!" Corinna yelled, sending an obvious wink to Cordelia as she waved goodbye.
As the two made their way towards Jeff's Chevrolet, she turned to him with a toothy grin, "I do not have three hundred suitcases!"
"It sure felt like it," he glanced down at her, amusedly, letting go of her hand as he opened the passenger seat door for him.
