Whatever It Takes || STEVE ROGERS [6]

2012 ― New York
"I think it's gratuitous, but whatever."

Scott, Banner, Katherine, Steve, and Tony all landed in New York in the middle of the battle, and they all had their suits on underneath. "Alright, we all have our assignments. Two stones uptown, one stone down. Stay low. Keep an eye on the clock." Steve said and then they heard a roar and looked over to see 2012 Hulk, smashing one of Loki's aliens with a car.

"This was a fun day," Katherine said while laughing to herself. Banner looked away as they watched his past self continue to jump on the car and Katherine laughed.

"Maybe smash a few things along the way," Steve said to him.

"I think it's gratuitous, but whatever." Banner said while taking off his tank top and walking out into the mess and lazily throwing some things around and onto different places on the ground, and he pretended to roar all aggressively. Katherine looked at her team.

"Let's go get that stone."

2013 ― Asgard
"I know it's not the same, but we are family, and we can do this."

Thor, Rocket, and Amaya snuck past Loki's jail cell in the dungeon on Thor's lead as they came up on the other side of the Kingdom. Amaya was in awe of the beauty of the country. Almost everything was golden, the sky was so clear and beautiful, and even the air to her felt differently. She almost didn't want to go home.

"For you, Miss Romanoff." One of the Asgardian ladies said to Nikita.

"Um, so you have anything with pants?" Nikita asked back which made Thor look longing at the door and Amaya looked over at Thor and frowned when she noticed the look on his face. 

"Nikita..." She heard him think in his head and she frowned more. Not having Nikita was really weighing down on him, and Amaya really hoped they could get her back, for all of their sakes.

"Alright, here's the deal tubby. You're gonna charm her, and I'm gonna poke her with this thing... and extract the Reality Stone, and get gone lickety-split." Rocket said and Thor inhaled a deep breath and pointed to Rocket and Amaya.

"I'll be right back, okay? The wine cellar is just down here. My father used to have this huge barrel of Aakonian ale. I'll see if the scullery has a couple of to-go cups." He said.

"Hey. Hey! Aren't you drunk enough already?" Rocket asked. They all hid when they heard a door open, and then Amaya noticed that a woman walked out, with other ladies following behind her. Amaya saw the look in Thor's eyes, the pain, and the sadness, so she decided to get inside of his head.

"Mom..." It was the only thing she heard, but it was such a painful 'mom' that it made her heartbreak even more for him.

"Who's the fancy broad?" Rocket asked.

"That's my mother. She dies today." Thor said which made Amaya frown more.

"Oh, that's today?" Rocket asked. Then Amaya and Rocket both noticed as Thor's breathing started to get a lot heavier, and he was shaking his head. He was starting to have a panic attack.

"I can't do this. I can't do this. I shouldn't be here. I shouldn't have come. It's a bad idea." Thor said and Amaya gently grabbed his hands and pulled him to the side, because she knew if Rocket was going to give him a 'pep' talk it was going to be a little harsh.

"Uncle Thor... it's okay, it's okay. Just breathe." She said.

"No, no, no. I think I'm having... I think I'm having a panic attack." Thor said and she nodded her head.

"You are, but you still have to breathe. That's the most important part." Amaya said and Thor continued to shake his head.

"I shouldn't be here, this is bad." He said.

"Uncle Thor, you're not the only one who lost people. Why do you think we're here? Rocket lost his family. I lost my brother and Peter. I understand you miss your mom, I have no idea what I would do if anything ever happened to mine, but she's gone, Uncle Thor. Really gone, but there's a lot of people who are only kind of gone and you can help them, we can all help them. Don't you want to get Aunt Nic back? So let's do this, together. I know it's not the same, but we are family, and we can do this. So what do you say?" The young Rogers said and Thor nodded his head with tears in his eyes.

"Okay." He said.

"Are you crying?" Rocket asked.

"No," Thor responded as he started to cry more. "Yes. I feel like I'm losing it." Thor said which made Amaya frown. Anyone could tell that Thor was going through depression. He's been through so much in the last... 10 years ever since losing his mom, it just seemed like loss after loss for him.

"You can do this, Uncle Thor. You can, alright? And if you feel like you can't, just think about Aunt Nic... you can do this, and we can get her back," Amaya said and Thor nodded his head as he looked at the girl.

"Yes, I can." He said.

"Good." Rocket said hoping down from the statue he was standing on top of.

"I can do this. I can do this... I can't do this." Thor said running off in a different direction while Rocket and Amaya walked together.

"Alright, heartbreaker, she's alone. This is our shot. Thor?" Rocket asked while looking around, and then he noticed that Thor wasn't there anymore. "Thor!"

2014 ― Morag
"We're a long way from Budapest. If only Kat were here right now."

Rhodey, Nebula, Natasha, and Clint all landed in Morag to drop off Nebula and Rhodey, before, Natasha and Clint were going to take the ship and go to Vormir to get the Soul Stone. But there was a mini ship inside of the big one that Nebula and Rhodey would be able to use if necessary.

"Alright, bring it down, Blue. Right on that line. That's it. Down, down." Rhodey instructed Nebula. Natasha saw some weird-looking creature approaching her, so she gave it a hard kick and moved it away from her and Clint, and the creature snarled at her before running away and Clint laughed.

"Hey, can we hurry it up?" Clint said.

"Guys, chop-chop. Come on. We're on the clock." Natasha said.

"All that is really helpful," Rhodey said. Once Rhodey and Nebula had gotten off the ship, Natasha gave him a hug.

"Take care, okay?" Natasha said to him and Rhodey nodded his head. 

"Get that stone and come back. No messing around." Rhodey said. As Clint and Natasha got on the ship, Rhodey called out to them one last time. "You guys watch each other's six," Rhodey said and Natasha turned around and smiled.

"You too." She said before they closed the doors on the ship and took their seats. Clint piloted them through the air. The three of them smiled at each other before Clint looked at his best friend.

"We're a long way from Budapest. If only Kat and Nic were here right now."

At first, I was gonna do all New York in one chapter, all Vormir in one, and then all Asgard in one, but since they jump between, I'll just jump between with them. So there's going to be all Time Heist chapters until it's all over.
